Next year will really show what he is made of. The problem is that next season is BRUTAL.
See, that IS the problem. Next year WOULD BE a better indicator of a coach coming into his second full season, but we're already starting to see the seeds of excuses being planted as to why any higher expectations for 2018 need to be tempered...
So when CAN we judge...? 2019? Wait...that will be too soon, because assuming we land a ton of the in state guys in the 2019 class, they'll all be true freshman and as we heard at the beginning of this year, too young to really be any true worth. So what's that, 2020...? shite, We may be without Brennan and/or Narcisse by then! And we may be on one or two all new coordinators by that point, who will each need to be given time to recruit to their system and teach their new system. Not really fair to expect those guys to just roll in and win in their first year...
See the issue here?

Not an O lover at all.... but I am not the fan like you that expects to win the SEC every year or get all upset about it.... you expect too much..... O is not the coach that will take you to a playoff......

....Hated the fact that we "settled" instead of making a thorough search. Had the search been done and several coaches interviewed... and O was the man. Then it would be OK with me.
This is LSU.... not USL

Only fair thing to do at that point is to give him another contract so he can get things going finally, and that's assuming we have no coordinator shakeup. If one of our coordinators leaves, well that just resets the clock on everything.
When I think about it more and more, I really do see how Orgeron could get 15 years out of this gig with the way our fanbase eats up his excuses like a warm gumbo on a winter's night.

so its not the coaches job to have players focused all of the sudden. they had just come out of a timeout.
Dude at end of the day it's up to the players to execute.
That play was run million times in practice abs games.
If they player getting the ball doesn't have enough sense to know which hole to run through that's on him.
It's obvious to me and anyone else that's played football that this message board is as close as you've ever come to playing.
And FTR, please don't get banned.

No, I don't expect to win the SEC every year and I have no clue what gives you that impression. All I've ever spoken out against was certain people throwing lavish praise at O for recreating this year against a weaker schedule the kind of results that got Les fired. No one in their right mind expects anyone to win the SEC every year. I just am sick of seeing people label this as a "great" year when it just isn't, or at least shouldn't be considered "great" by a program of our magnitude or potential magnitude, I should say.

Maybe SpaceClownboy is on to something when he's said he'll be the head coach for 15 or more years.

What possibly does a 7 tech or zone blocking have to do with a back not running to the correct hole on the one yard line?
11th game of the season?
It's already been stated and proven the hole was there and it was the correct playcall
It wasn't Os fault, emismingers or etling's....it was 5's fault.
He ran to the wrong hole.
You should really get the frick off the high horse you ride around here and realize you're just a kid with a big fricking mouth and overflated sense of self worth and knowledge.
You're the biggest blowhard on the site.

Well if you're cool with blaming players instead of the coach, you may want to revisit a lot of Miles's losses and go reassign the blame for those.
Lets just start in 2013 with two obvious ones: OBJ fumble at UGA and Mett going full derp with 3 ugly pics at Ole Miss.

No reason to gamble passing long when we were gashing them running the ball. On whoever was calling plays.

Nah, Mett was a future NFL QB, he should have throw the ball better. He was coached to not throw the ball to the other team. Not the coaches' fault.
