Folks also need to remember that Florida got in the 2006 BCS championship when USC shocked everyone by blowing an otherwise certain invitation to the BCS championship by losing to UCLA, vaulting Florida who had been behind both USC and Michigan into the game. Most of the poll voters didn't want to see Michigan in a rematch with Ohio State and USC was the next choice until the UCLA game.

It is more interesting in that but for a mishandled center exchange and a muffed punt in the LSU-Florida game, LSU could have been in the BCS championship in 06 (or at least would have met Florida again for the SECCG for that opporunity). Many commentators thought LSU was perhaps the best team in the country at the end of the season.

I personally thought the 2006 LSU team was better than than the 2007 team.

And as you stated, it takes luck to get to the NCG. LSU got that luck in 2007, but didn't in 2006.

you don't like a guy that over 5 seasons has kept lsu in the top 3rd of the toughest conference? perhaps you need some perspective. name the coaches in the last 3 decades that have equaled that feat. i assure you, the list is quite short and is topped with the name spurrier

SO WHAT? the teams with the best resumes OVER THE COURSE OF THE SEASON made the ncg. period. name the team(s) that deserved it more.

why in the world would you care what "the rest of the world" thinks? that group is made up of some really uninformed people.

All we had to do was beat an unranked arkansas and win the sec and we were in.
the is typical of negatigers; oversimplifying things. the entire season is in consideration, not the last game or any one game. when the season was over, lsu's resume was as good or better than anyone else's.

It did happen and when looking at the season as a whole, LSU deserved to be in the BCSCG
then there's no need to mention the ark game or say that lsu "got lucky" or "backed in"

What's luck is that even the officials tried to get West Va there and Rich Rod still couldn't do it!

I think you just set the record for most posts in one thread. Holy shite! We get the point.

Wait, I think this was meant for your other thread that you, also, beat to death.

but we lost at home with the national title on the line as far as Miles could know and then we got lucky and backed in, so yeah lets mention it. But, hey, maybe if Miles wasn't spending that week trying to land another job than he would've won it.

So what?

At least HIS "repetition" is a repetition of common sense and logic.

That beats the hell out of the rantards' idiotic repetition that we "backed into the national championship game."

Keep going Maximus. You're reminding me of an old truism.

It goes like this: "Whistling Dixie past the graveyard to keep your courage up."

True, both Miles and Bo Pelini were incredibly distracted with coaching rumors, and the ensuing media circus, during the week the of the Arkansas game in particular. I'm not surprised at all that they didn't pull that game out. I think that Miles realized that it might repeat itself the next game in the SEC championship, so he just said screw it and did the famous "Have a great day" speech to put an end to it all.
