isn't Minneapolis the same distance to Green Bay as Chicago Midway

Minneapolis is about 4.5 hours, Midway to GB is about 3.5-4 depending on traffic.

The drive from Chicago is interstates all the way. From Minneapolis I'm not sure the same can be said, just don't remember.

Just purchased a parking pass next to the Packers' practice facility. Is that a solid location for walking to the bars, tailgating, etc.?

The stadium is one half block to your west, and the strip of bars on Holmgren Way is one half block to your east. It's in the middle of the best area to be on gameday, since most of the best tailgating happens on the lot on the east side of Lambeau (outside the Oneida gate).

Nope. Midway to GB is 3.5 hours, Minney to GB is 5 hours.

Also, Chicago > Minneapolis

We are flying in and out of Chicago, was the cheapest option. Flying up on wednesday, Cubs game on Thursday, Green Bay Friday night.

I was able to rent a full size car Friday-Sunday through Costco for $40. Those of you with memberships may want to give that a look.

So how do the lots work for tailgating? First-come? Paid?

Also, how accommodating are badgers to visitors? I ran across a couple of cool ones in Houston the last time we met. But they were awful drunk.

For Packer games, I believe that season ticket holders have the opportunity to buy for the main lot and I think it's something like $30 per game. I'm not sure how this game is being handled, but I would think that season ticket holders who got tickets also had the opportunity to buy parking passes. But that being said, parking on the lawns and lots immediately surrounding the stadium is plentiful and very easy. So if you get there a few hours before the game, just explore the houses around the corner of Lombardi and Ridge and pick a spot.

You'll get conflicting reports on how accommodating Badger fans are depending on who you talk to. Some will say that Badger fans are assholes, and some definitely are. It's going to be more common among the students.

But you will also find many really fun and ready to party together Badger fans. I know LSU fans get after it, and among college football fanbases, I'd say that UW fans are one of the few that are in the same class.

I will say, that Badger fans pale in comparison to friendliness and openness that Packer fans exhibit. But Packer fans are an entirely unique group.

I'm excited for the trip. Pretty interested to see how we travel to Wiscy. We did a decent job up in Syracuse. But, given prestige of the venue/quality of opponent, I expect we'll be out in force.

LINK

You may want to try and schedule a taxi pickup though, because Uber is gonna be crazy on gameday.

It's a tough travel location for you guys, but I expect you will represent well. I for one am looking forward to partying with you all. That area around the stadium will be jumping all weekend.

If anyone has struck out on lodging, I have 3 nights (check-in Thursday, out Sunday) at the Hampton Inn Downtown GB for sale. It's one King bed and a pullout Queen sofa. I checked and I can't change the dates, so it has to be those 3, no more, no less.

This is going on the exchange once it gets closer, but wanted to toss it out there for this thread first.

The rental is with Alamo, through Costco Travel. We even booked our Universal trip through them, couldn't beat their prices anywhere.
