People Complaining that Bama may get Redo
For those of us who weathered the undaunting bias of the AP (associated press) and the UPI (united press international-basically college coaches) polls, seeing the BCS (Bowl Championship Series) decide to put 2 teams on a field and play for a NC was a godsend. It wasn't perfect, but it took out the human bias And allowed at least 2 teams a chance to prove they were the best. But, there was one fallacy of the BCS system that I thought was overlooked. Had this one aspect been computed into the system I think it would have cleared up a lot of the issue. And that was winning your conference. If this factor had been given more weight It would have been LSU versus USC in 2003, it would have been LSU versus Okie State in 2011. But for some reason the BCS never gave any credibility to winning your conference.

No way. We beat them at their house. End of debate, bring on another contender.
It ticked me off how on the field after the 2011 game Les said he'd be honored to play them again. He got his wish and how did that turn out?

It is hard to beat a team twice. We already beat them. That should be the end of that discussion.
Never should a single conf. get two teams in.
Like I have posted before. What if the SEC is really tough next year from top to bottom and ever team ends up with 2 losses. Would it be the correct thing to do leave out the SEC conf. Champion.
Of course not. So conversely it is screwy to leave out two other conferences totally just to let in a second place team that has already lost the right to claim they are the best in the country.

Especially for the SEC - they go thru a meat grinder of a season every year - get physically beaten up even when they win while other conferences have more milquetoast teams.
We have a big nation - let the conference champions compete for the title =
if you want to be the US Champion - win your conference - otherwise grab a seat and watch the show.

I actually think they’re an easier out than either Ohio State or Clemson this year.
wrong for OH ST, maybe Clemsom...
but to have an extra week to heal and plan is a HUGE unfair advantage. Also, when playing good teams it is almost impossible to develop TWO game plans that will produce a win. iT IS TIME TO STAY HOME.

The way the rankings are setup right now, it’s looking like the SEC Champ(LSU, Georgia), Big Ten Champ(Ohio State,Minnesota,Penn State) Pac 12 Champ(Utah or Oregon), and ACC Champ (Clemson) will be the 4 Playoff spots.

It makes no sense for the national champion to not even be their own conference champion. They weren't the best in their conference, but they are the best in the nation? That's stupid.
The playoffs should simply be the 4 best out of the 5 conference champions.
Ideally, we make 4 power conferences, and the rest form their own division with their own championship. I don't understand why the other conferences don't ask for this. They will never be national champions as it now. Several of them have gone undefeated and were never even considered for the national championship.

Hey LSUCHAMP 06
do not underestimate the back room deals of ESPN and the Conference Presidents.

Thats the best point and reason not to have them in the playoffs. If they get in with that logic still in place, its positive proof there is gump bias. Eye test? DId they not see the beat down in tuscaloser Saturday. They should be ranked 8/9 right now, screw the gumps.

Actually, in post season remataches (includes conference championships and bowl games), the record of the original loser is 28-28. So "almost impossible" isn't close to accurate. I'd imagine if you look deeper, you'd find the better team won the rematch. This year we are clearly better than Bama.
They don't deserve the shot, but there is no reason to be afraid to play them again this year. 2011, yea that was the time to be scared.

Kinda sounds like people are scared to play them.
What difference does it make if we play them or Oregon, or Clemson or Georgia or whoever?
I’d rather play a team that we know. We know their defense sucks. We can score on them. We will continue to do that.
We also know that they can score on us. We’re not perfect. But at least we know what those weaknesses are now vs bama.
We know that they can run it on us. We know that Tua can drop some dimes. We know that Stingley doesn’t like being distracted by the coaches before the snap.
So fix the weaknesses

People are sick of that team simply getting differnt treatment....their fanbase and the media that covers them EXPECT it. And the reasoning is...well, they're Bama.
Because they have Saban and have top the recruiting classes every year they ALWAYS get the benefit of the doubt and pass "the eye test". There has NEVER been a 12-1 conference champ NOT make the playoff in lieu of an 11-1 team that didnt win their conference and the media and Bama fanbase not only want that to happen, they expect it to happen. It's entitlement at it's greatest level and people are fricking sick of it.
I'm not scared of them at all but I want them to get what they deserve and if they continually get rewarded with preferential treatment they will die on the mountain of demanding to play Tennessee ever year and scheduling FCS schools and scheduling OOC games with Duke.
It's time for it to stop and all we need is a 12-1 Pac 12 conference champ to stop it.

they got whipped at home.
Manhandled. Never had the ball with a chance to win the game. This game was not that close and Bama is hoping people just read the final score and come to that conclusion.

Agree but AL is getting a rematch.
Get ready for Tua to run up over 50 points on Aranda and his passive defense while AL's DL will get more pressure on Burrow than the 5 sacks and 7 hurries from last Saturday.
Aranda completely blew putting the nail in the coffin in the 2nd half.

passive defense that held them to their second lowest point total of the year

I think Joe Burrow and this offense operate like an NFL locker room. They will enter a second game like just part of a NFL season and have an entirely different plan and squash them again. This won’t be like 2011 season. I don’t think they get in but ain’t scared if they do.

Its ESPN an all those punks love to suck Saban's balls!
