F$&k Atlanta. That city is the worst SEC bowl destination other than Shreveport and Birmingham.
This is unspeakably dumb. Atlanta has been great to the SEC, and is the de facto capital of SEC football.

Honestly, I would rather go to Boise for a bowl game. It’s a really cool town with beautiful scenery.
quote:What? I’m pretty sure the last time we played in Atlanta was for the 2011 sec championship.
LSU plays in Atlanta for one reason or another every year or two.
quote:Ok man. You’re just doubling down on a stupid statement at this point or you’ve never been to Atlanta.
The city is just mediocre at everything it tries to do, isn’t special or unique in any way, has atrocious traffic, and a completely unreliable mass transit system.

Auburn made it to the peach last year with 3 losses and the sugar in 2016 with 4 losses.

There are 3 teams that LSU won’t be favored against. If they can avoid getting swept here then they have a pretty good shot.

Jesus where were all these pumpers when Les was coaching?
It’s one game. One game. Against an overmatched ACC team which were not even sure just how good they really are considereing they’ve been manhandled as of recent every time they played a team with a pulse.
We may have a very successful year. But let’s get through the next two weeks before we start talking about big bowl games.

last I checked we're still undefeated so I typically have my eyes on CFP until the number of L's gets to 3... it causes heartbreak for me every year, but it's fun to dream

Slow your roll dude. We played ONE game.

I've been to Atlanta many more times than I'd like to have been to Atlanta. Every time I've been, the only highlight has been the game I went to despite trying all kinds of activities around the city. Literally the only fun I've had in Atlanta outside of a game was a trip to the World of Coca-Cola, which was really only fun the first time. Heck, last time I went, I got food poisoning from one a pretty well-known and reputable Atlanta eatery.

You must be really fricking boring, lazy or both. I'm guessing both. It's a huge city with a lot to do.

I have fun in every other city I go to, but every time I'm in Atlanta, things just seem to go completely awry and I end up having a really bad time. If it had happened just once or twice, it would be one thing, but I've been there at least 5 times and all of those trips were pretty disastrous. Heck, I haven't had 5 bad nights out in BR and I f&%king live there!!! At some point, clearly, it's not a fluke anymore.

So you went to Atlanta and for fun you went on multiple tours of the Coca-cola factory? You didn’t want to go to a braves game, go to the world famous aquarium, go to six flags, go to any number of museums, could have went tubing on the Chattahoochee River, they have a great zoo, could have went to the six flags water park, could have went to Stone Mountain or just went bar hopping.
You said you wanted to go to Boise for the views, there are some incredible hiking spots around Atlanta.
But you chose to go on multiple tours of the coke factory? It ain’t an Atlanta problem.
Just admit your doubling down and I’ll stop.

no, only did the coke factory twice (both of those times were trips when I was still under 18 and travelling with my dad, so it really wasn't up to me)
I've tried bar hopping the last few times and everywhere I went was pretty dead, and the weather was too nasty for hiking. I would like to check out Stone Mountain next time I have to go through there, though, assuming Antifa doesn't dynamite it before then.

Honestly, I would rather go to Boise for a bowl game. It’s a really cool town with beautiful scenery. LSU plays in Atlanta for one reason or another every year or two. It gets old FAST, and was old 10 years ago. It has nothing to do with the falcons or any of their pro sports franchises. The city is just mediocre at everything it tries to do, isn’t special or unique in any way, has atrocious traffic, and a completely unreliable mass transit system.
Give me a trip to Atlanta better than similar counterparts Houston or Dallas (where LSU plays quite often)

I'm not a big fan of Houston or Dallas either, but I'd probably take Dallas over Atlanta. I've only been to Jerry World twice, and I didn't have much of an opportunity to explore the town on either of those trips.
Nashville and New Orleans are vastly superior towns to visit for a ball game. The only disadvantage for Nashville is that their stadium is outside, and weather can be a little cold and wet during bowl season.
