Hey Joe, time to pony up at the end of the season and take care of Will Wade. Some mediocre SEC coaches are making more than him. With what he's done for the program in only 2 years, Wade deserves better than being the 8th highest paid coach in the SEC.

Pay this man, before another school does!

2018 SEC Coaches Pay
1. John Calipari- $7.99M
2. Avery Johnson- $2.90M
3. Frank Martin- $2.85M
4. Cuonzo Martin- $2.70M
5. Mike Anderson- $2.55M
6. Mike White- $2.54M
7. Bruce Pearl- $2.53M
8. Will Wade- $2.50M

It's only 400k between 2nd and 8th. It's not that bad. We have a great year, bump him to 3 million.

I like WW but how about we actually wait and see how he stacks up for more than 1.1 seasons before throwing the bank at him. If he delivers, he’ll get a raise.

I wouldn't expect the bank thrown at him, and I mentioned after this season. But if his stock keeps going up, other schools or the NBA will come sniffing.

Maybe he should win something first?

Just a thought.

The best coach in the conference isn’t even on that list

What do you mean by "win something"? How about 3rd in SEC and making Sweet 16? Would that fit your raise justification criteria?

I read your post without reading the list and genuinely was concerned like we are shortchanging WW or something. Then, I read the list. Man GTFO of here with that shite. In this league Calipari makes a shitload and the rest of them all make the same. We win and he will get paid don't you worry. He isn't going to leave for a whole $30k/yr more dude.

IMO you don't give a guy a raise after one good season unless it's just something ridiculous. I'm not in favor of giving Orgeron a raise this off season either. I mean if Wade gets to the Elite 8 and wins the SEC Tourney or the SEC outright, then sure. But, it needs to be more than one good season to me.

I look more at trajectory of the program and market demand for fast up and coming young coaches. What did he have to work with when he got here? Very little/damaged goods. If he had inherited anything worthwhile, who knows how good they'd be right now. Hell, they almost miraculously made the tournament last year.

Those are good points, but if he's only $400k behind Avery Johnson that sounds fair to me. Avery has a little more clout due to his NBA success. I'm a huge Will Wade fan and don't want him leaving. If it's a must, I have no problem with a raise. But, as I said, it's just not a must for me after one "good" season. It would have to be a spectacular season.

Spectacular is doable with this bunch. If they're playing well, they can hang with any team in the country. Right now it's all about learning to be consistent and keep developing a killer instinct with a lead.

Downvoted because the list is inaccurate/old. Kermit Davis is at Middle Tenn on this list. He is a more proven coach IMO. I would pay him what Wade is making TBH.
