Kling actually showed a lot more potential last year

Something I’ve noticed with a Kling is he consistently gets down in counts. He’s so in his head he’s scared to swing at strikes early, gets into 2 strike counts, and is toast. I also don’t know if it helps showing bunt so much then pulling the bat back to swing. For a guy out of rhythm that seems counterproductive

Nobody is more aggravated than Kling. I promise you he has done thousands of reps practicing hitting the ball to the opposite field. Baseball is very much mental and he is in his own head too much right now. He needs to relax and just play, but that’s easier said than done.

Why doesnt he try taking a closed batting stance? Like putting his back foot away from the plate and front foot closer to plate

Because this isn’t Marucci 8 year old little league and that type of goofy shite doesn’t work in major D1 baseball. The entire point of a “good” swing is to keep the barrel in the strike zone for as long as possible, at as an effective of an angle as possible, while generating as much power as you can. Closing off would not help with any of those things

Seems like he just doesn’t see the ball well. The best hitters see the ball extremely well.

I would think Jay and company are barking at this to try and barrel up in right center ala DCrews.

So you are saying that all the coaches are telling him to change and he keeps saying, “nah I’m good” ?

Dude been playing baseball his whole life and was probably the best player in the field. He has recently barreled several balls that either went right to someone or the wind knocked down.
Sometimes u need some luck. I think he needs a few good hits to get his confidence back.

Me saying “I would think Jay etcetc” means that he clearly is not, but he should be.
