You won’t get traction on this post. But I don’t think Paul is an elite baseball coach.

. I don’t necessarily have an issue keeping Hess in the rotation, but he’s not a Friday night guy.
I can't wait til Hess and PM shove this quote up everyone's arse.

Why does everyone in favor of keeping Hess as the Friday night guy keep saying one game, one game? It’s not one game. His ERA over last season was over 5 as the Friday night guy. Then he gets lit up last night. It’s much more than one game.
I hope that Marcauex can step up and be the guy everyone is saying and we can swap him and Hess. I don’t necessarily have an issue keeping Hess in the rotation, but he’s not a Friday night guy.
Why does everyone ignore the obvious?

I keep hearing that "LSU baseball fans are the most knowledgeable baseball fans in the nation"
You would never know it if you read this board.

Yea because Hess has been so great as a starter. Him and his roughly 5.5 overall era as a starter.

You have me confused with a coach for LSU baseball.

Because it's only one game this season. Players improve in the off season. If the coach thinks he's ready to go after seeing him the entire off season, maybe he's seen something that thinks Hess is the ace. It's possible he just had a bad night if that's the case. If he continues to struggle then a change will need to be made, but we just don't know for sure after one outing.

You'd rather be proven right about a player than see the player and team do well.

People can say what they want about Saban, but he absolutely nailed it when he used that phrase about our fans when he was here.

Meet the new president of the Chicken Littles Club.
The vp of the We Are Doomed Assn.
And lifetime member of the "I will never forgive lsu for not hiring or not recruiting, signing, playing the coach/player of my wet dreams" Guild.
What a miserable life.

I said it in another thread and I'll say it in this one to, my main issue with Hess is his consistency. He was bad last night, but I could see him coming out and shutting down Bryant and Texas the next two weekends, only to come out and allow Cal to hit him all over the park.
You can go back to those games he started as a Freshman, he was very inconsistent. Games of 6 innings 0 runs, 1 walk, 7 strike outs, then the next week he goes 4 innings gives up 5 runs 6 walks and 3 strike outs. We are running up on 3 seasons of data saying he isn't a starter. Stop trying to force him to be something

Yea, because he will put fear in the mighty Warhawks of UL-Monroe.
