Could not agree more with you. Everyone knows Les is a great man. And we respect that about him. But at the end of the day, he's getting paid a lot of money to win football games. That's the bottom line.
Summation of this entire thread: even though Les has been producing subpar results for a supposedly "elite" program, we keep him because he's become a cult figure larger than the program itself.

Name a coach other than Nick Saban that is winning multiple national titles at the same school???? I'll hang up and listen. You can't fire every top tier pretty program's head coach for not winning the big one...

If you are admitting Nick Saban is the best coach in college football, then are you willing to admit that Nick Saban is also the best coach LSU ever had?

No.
He wasn't the best coach in college football at Toledo, MSU or at LSU.
He might well be now, but not then.
Nice try though.

Every Bama fan I know loves Miles. I loved Mike Dubose

He's the best coach in the land based off his production at Alabama, not on his production while in Baton Rouge. People on this board have long term memory loss. Saban lost more games while in Baton Rouge than folks choose to remember.

but he got the program moving in the right direction. He was in the process of evolving into the coach he is today. Then he went to Bama and caught lightning in a bottle.
Do you honestly think if he came back to lsu, we wouldn't be competing in the playoffs in short order? Talent would not be properly identified, coached up and used on the field? That he could not surpass what miles has done since 1/9 if we rewound the clock and got a do over?
Miles peaked in 2011 and has been languishing ever since.

Saban is not the best coach Michican State ever had either. Your argument is lame.

How good is Paw-Paw's arm and does he have any eligibility left?
Posted on 12/27/15 at 5:46 pm to PsychTiger
Saban wasn't that good here, he only won 2 SEC Championships and a NC in only 5 years, rebuilt the program laid the foundation and left 21 out of the 22 starters that won Miles only Championship.
