When Sid declined Saban's invitation to visit Bama, he became a legendary LSU fan. RIP Sid.

I know few people who want to keep Miles & Louisiana politics once again stepped in to hamper LSU's progress. Thats the history lesson. Keep pumpin that sunshine
Because you hang around people who think like you do. That does not make it the majority or not:).
I want LSU to have the best chance of winning. I favor four definite coaches (Jimbo one of them) and two maybes to replace Miles if they are available. If not, and if it came down to any one else outside of proven coaches, then LSU is taking a big chance on a up and comer. Outside of Herman its risky. And logic dictates Miles stays due to him being a proven commodity and overall track record. Wrong hire and we may be in trouble.
I accept that if Miles does not put us in position to win the West it is not unreasonable to want to replace him with an UPGRADE. If no upgrade is available and if Miles does not retire, would not be surprised if he coaches out his contract - RIGHT OR WRONG. I know it sucks that our opinions are not the most important ones. But I can tell you that the opinions who are the most important may not agree with yours:)

Being a BAMA fan I have cousins in Louisiana I see quiet often but they do not like the fact a lot of BAMA fans Love Miles.

Could not agree more with you. Everyone knows Les is a great man. And we respect that about him. But at the end of the day, he's getting paid a lot of money to win football games. That's the bottom line.

gave you other examples of teams with 2 in less than 11 years. Bama has 3 in 4 years, LSU has 2 in 5 years but under 2 different coaches, and Florida state has 2 in 3 years. Florida came close with having 2 in 12 years but at least they competed for 2 others in 14 years so they had a chance at 4 in 14 years.
So, other than LSU, there was Bama (which we had already agreed upon, and discussed) and Florida (you have Florida state and Florida mixed up...I'm going to assume that was a slip, and not evidence of the fact that you don't know shite except for what Google tells you). So the "several" teams you brought up that have won 2 NCs in a few years consists of Florida. A team and coach that followed the last one up with an 8-5 record two years later, and he bailed out when he saw he didn't have a competent QB, and saw he had no shot at repeating. All it seems I have to do is keep you talking and you keep making my points for me.

Are you sitting here, claiming to be an LSU fan and saying you are ok with the results of the last 11 years of the program?
As a whole? Yes. It's the greatest stretch in LSU history. Anyone who can't acknowledge that is an idiot.
Of the past few years, no. Anyone who can't acknowledge that is also an idiot.
quote:
Are you ok with the beat down Bama has given us the last 5 times we played them because, "you know, Saban and all".
Learn the difference between losing games and beat downs. There have been a couple. But no. Not happy with it.
quote:
Are you ok with the last 2 beat downs Arky gave us? You going to start saying "cause, you know, Bielema and all" for Arkansas too? You really gonna sit there, claiming to be an LSU fan, and say that Bama and Arkansas are just better programs than LSU?
Nope, nope, and nope. The losses to Arky aren't acceptable. And because a team beats another doesn't mean they are a better program. Ole miss has beat Bama two years in a row. Does that makes them a better program than Bama? That argument is dumb.
But what you are failing to understand is that none of this addresses your original statement that had LSU won 3-4 national championships in 11 years that Miles would be safe. You're setting a standard, or expecting one, that no coach has ever accomplished other than the unprecedented run that Saban has been on at Bama. I don't like it, but unfortunately, it is something that thousands of coaches have never been able to get done. You have Bama envy, and are expecting a coach to achieve a level of success that only one has done.

but hearing Paw-Paw meant a lot.
That's because Paw-Paw always has the Tide to fall back on when we shite the bed. He's a Miles fan not an LSU fan. You don't live to be eighty nine and then suddenly switch your allegiances at the drop of a hat.

There's a thread on the SEC rant about streaks of losing seasons among SEC schools and what stood out to me was that LSU's last losing season was in 1999. All other schools in our league have had at least 1 losing season MUCH more recently than that. For all his faults, Miles has had a tremendously successful run posting double digit wins in over 70% of his seasons at LSU and I don't see a realistic possibility of a losing season in his future whether he coaches here 1 more year or much longer.

I really hate to see negative comments and post on the board but I guess that is what to be expected from the board negative fans.

Of course it did. Nobody likes to see people like you sitting around hoping to get noticed.
I'm guessing that's why you show up here with your "look at me" comments." It is sad.

I agree. LSU should keep Miles. LSU football is not pro football. There is no Superbowl. It's better to teach the kids that it's not whether you win or lose, but, it's how you treat others in life.

As great as Les Miles is, it's crazy to think no one has contacted him to steal him away from LSU. That kind of production should at least get some schools in need of a coach talking about trying to steal Miles from LSU. Can anyone let me know why Miles' name never comes up during coaching searches for some of the bigger programs in the country?
