He couldve been one of the greatest Louisianamals ever but decided to throw it all away in my eyes when he became a trator!
Perhaps if you knew that facts you wouldn't believe ..."he decided to throw it all away" .... Mondo has said multiple times that he originally wanted to compete for and represent the USA in track and field. The USA T&F Federation agreed that Greg Duplantis could coach his son, BUT neither Mondo nor Greg would receive any monetary support for travel expenses, PV equipment, or a salary to represent the US.
Sweden reached out to Mondo and negotiated a contract confirming that Greg could coach his son, and both Greg and Mondo would be PAID a very lucrative salary by the Swedish Track Federation. Sweden allows Mondo to live and train in the US and Sweden under the guidance of his dad. The Sweden T&F Federation also flies the family wherever they want and pays for their expenses. The U.S.A.T&F does NOT pay the athletes or their coaches. The US athletes only earn $$ based on sponsorship, performance stipends, and prize money from events.
So basically, Mondo's decision to represent Sweden was based on financial security for HIS entire family. Sweden pays Greg a nice salary to coach his son. Sweden pays for all Mondo's expenses. Mondo is getting paid a hefty salary whereas the USAT&F does not financially support their athletes. Put yourself in Mondo's shoes..... you and your family getting paid millions from Sweden or receiving $0 and support from USATF. IMO, the answer is a no brainer.

Plus, there are probably more great baseball players than pole vaulter world-wide. There aren't that many professional pole vaulters. Also, no one is playing "defense" against Mondo. The best hitter in the world are trying to beat Skenes and they consistently can't do it.
Blah, blah, blah. Mondo is tops. It's not debatable.

Nice post. I’m sure you just broke that dude’s “Louisianamal” brain.
