I dunno man, the only games i remember seeing teams consistantly try Peterson was the Alabama game. That was with a Senior Qb and one of the best recievers in the nation. And imo, PP7 held is own.

Foregoing what I know of DS's pro career, I would rather see my team choose PP7 over him. The chances are 100:1 or worse it would be the right desicion, seeing how DS's career went, but PP7's size/speed is unreal.

I see Top pops, but i just don't see him as good as Deion. When it gets to the point in the pros that QB's are scared to throw in PP's direction, I will change my tune. FAIR??

I know what you're saying. Deion was a once in a lifetime player. PP7 has a chance to be one of those guys........we'll see. Talking with my Draft Analyst friend the other day, he likes PP7 as much as any in the draft this year. A sure bet, if there is one in the NFL Draft.....

but by his sixth year in the league his speed was gone and his dominance was finished

In his 10th year, he led the NFL in yards per punt return

It's a testament to PP7 that the question is even raised. Of course, he's not Deion. Nobody is.

I feel the same way when I see this same thread on TexAgs about Von Miller and Derrick Johnson. Of course, Von isn't DJ but just to be in the same breath is an honor

The passes were usually incomplete or intercepted.
Yeah . . . except for all those that went for TDs to the guy Deion was supposed to be covering. Or to the guy that Deion was covering before he went for the pick and missed.

Deion was the most overrated player in since the early '80s (when I started watching the NFL) during the first half of his career. He never turned into a true elite CB until he went to San Fran and learned to cover routes and actually tackle.

Peterson can easily be a better corner as a rookie than Deion was because Deion was very little other than ridiculously fast as a rookie. And if Peterson actually takes his game seriously, he could easily be as good as or better than Deion years down the road. He may never get the press or lip service Deion did, even if he is a better football player.

I wonder if anyone even remembers how Atlanta's pass defense was worse every single year Deion was there than it was the year before he got there?

Rod Woodson was a CB for the Steelers (greatest in NFL history, imo). I don't think he moved to Safety until he got to Baltimore.

Do you have videos or specific plays where he got burned?

You mean, like stored on my computer? No. I just remember watching him play at Atlanta and noticing how often there seemed to be guys wide open in his area of the field while he was chasing somebody with another DB covering them or into another DBs zone. And I watched Eric Martin get wide open over and over on him. Sure, Deion would close again with incredible quickness, but Martin would already have the catch.

And I noticed how their pass defense seemed to get worse when he got there.

This thread is a bunch of old guys who can't bare someone from their time being passed up. That's like the magic Johnson hype. He would get owned in the NBA tight now. Not owned but he wouldn't be thought of the same way.

ALSO, let's not proclaim Peterson champion of anything yet. Give him a few years in the NFL before we start saying he's better than any HOF'er.

Mainly because of his speed and field vision....

He can see daylight as good as anyone. THe guy could have played WR with ease. Some of the best hands on the team.
