His deal will probably be between 16-19 million for four years. Cam Newton signed for only 22 million. Last year, Bradford sign for 78 million (50 million guaranteed).

Don't complain about NFL rookie contracts, they still get paid more than any other rookies... NBA 4th pick would make $2M a year, MLB probably about $1M and NHL only about $500K. NHL and NBA are 3 year deals.

That was the one I wasn't sure about, but it's also the hardest one to judge because there really isn't a scale there. What does the 4th pick get paid? I'm not an MLB fan by any stretch. I know NBA 4th picks make right around $2M for 3 years and NHL around $500k.

I'm not either, but Zach Lee wasn't a 4th pick and the dodgers gave him like 5 or 6 mil.

No complaint on the salaries. I don't think unproven players should get more than proven guys.

I agree, I don't mind that it's all guaranteed, but it was getting to be where the first pick was a bad thing and not a good one.

So the Cardinals had to turn him away. “I liked his drive,” Whisenhunt said, smiling. The Cardinals hadn’t started working in earnest on deals for their first two picks by Friday night. Looks like most of Cardinals focus has been on Kolb.

Every rookie baseball player gets a similar base salary (it's less than $1M), when you hear of prospects singing for a specific amount of money, that's his signing bonus.

If fully guaranteed like newton's was, that is almost as much guaranteed per year as nnamdi is making with the eagles, and that's the proven best cb in the nfl. Not bad at all.

Nnadmi got 25 mil guaranteed, that's a big difference. PP wont't get 16-19 mil guaranteed, that will be his overall contract worth.

All the other top 5 picks have gotten fully guaranteed deals in the $20 million dollar range. Why wouldn't PP7's deal be also?

My guess is the Cards may have wanted to see what Kolb would count against the cap, this year and moving on. Now that the Kolb deal is done, PP should be done today.
