Great chance to learn from Olsen. That guy is a beast and seems like a great teammate.

That's a sleeper pickup. He's talented but just doesn't have any film.

He just didn't test well- running between a 4.85 and 5.04 40.

Hopefully in camp he can prove there is more to being a good TE other than straight line speed.

Gonna have a lot of competition for his spot. Six TEs on one roster

Is Cam Cameron their GM?

What did he show at LSU to prove he's a NFL caliber TE? He certainly wasn't a good blocker. He's also below average athletically based on what we say at pro day. I know everyone will bash me, but it is the truth.

For tight ends he’s top 15 all time in TDs and yards, and top 10 in receptions.

ETA:

With far fewer games under his belt than a lot of guys ahead of him (except Gronk, whose per game stats are ridic).

He's also a hell of a blocker and a fantastic teammate. I think he's definitely considered an "all time great" if by the end of his career he's top 10 in every major statistical category for the position, which is very likely.

Congrats! Hope he finally outruns a offensive lineman. That 40 time was pathetic!

No you have a point, I guess there's always been that feeling that LSU doesn't take advantage of receiving TE's well in favor of blocking TE's. There was ways a sense that he had receiving skills that were not utilised. I guess how he does with the Panthers will give us that answer

Agreed! That is a terrible 40 for a TE. Hell OL run that. I'm glad he will get a shot but he should have went ahead and started his process of being a state trooper.

You realize he was a backup to two guys at LSU that aren't sure fire NFL tight ends, right?

He had a calf injury which teams were alerted to, hence the bad numbers. Was also one the square pegs Miles tried to beat in a round hole.
