Hey folks!
My wife and I will be traveling from Michigan to NO and then to Baton Rouge for the Bama game (we are neutral fans). We are driving from NO to Baton Rouge early Saturday morning. We plan on tailgating and we have tix. Any suggestions as to where we should look to park/tailgate that would be a good atmosphere and availability to park? Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!!

It'll be good all around campus.
As for tailgate spots, maybe drive around campus on Friday and pick a spot East of Stadium.

Honestly good luck
Campus will be overruned
Best bet is get on river road and park in hayfield and be ready for long walk
Bring cash because there are some bycicle taxi services that may help

The key is getting on campus VERY early

The Hayfield is not that bad of a walk
To the OP- Whatever school you are a fan of, wear that jersey. That will guarantee you get fed by tailgates as you walk around

I would personally buy a parking pass
From this site on the ticket exchange or stub hub
Just walk around peeps will invite u in their tailgates

The Hayfield sucks for the ride home
I’d get there early as possible and find somewhere near the North Gates to park

Take Thomas Delpit to Howard St to get to the interstate after the game?

Skip New Orleans is a suggestion

Lots of routes to get to the interstate more quickly compared to parking in the hayfield.
I never said safer tbf

Are you planning on joining other tailgates or doing something on your own?
Park in the Ag Center. Plenty of tailgates there to join in.

The French Quarter will be overrun w/bammer fans. Avoid those a-holes. I like Mambos in the quarter for solid Cajun fare….walk the river boardwalk and check out Cafe du Monde and the French Market. Get reservations at Irene’s Fine Cuisine in the quarter for a fantastic dinner. Get to campus early and enjoy the tailgating. Wear your Michigan gear (Geaux Bleu) or State gear (Geaux Green….Geaux White)… again, avoid Bama assholes as their food sucks just as bad as their attitudes. I will be coming down with my wife from Michigan as well but we are flying! I’ve made the drive a many a time. Enjoy Illinois and Mississippi as that will be 3/4 of your drive!!!
