Legit question, what exactly are you mad about? Is it that players can make money? Is it that people in this thread have said that playing professional sports is still considered a job? Is it because I think athletes like Jayden Daniels, Joe Burrow, Dylan Crews, etc work hard? I legitimately don't know what it is.

Not mad about anything. Why the need for straw men? I know the answer I just wonder if you do.

I mean you obviously have a problem with things that have been said in this thread or something that is going on in college/professional football. I'm just trying to figure out what exactly it is.

Players like Joe Burrow made far more $$ for their university than what their scholarship was worth
You could say Joe burrow is one of the highest paid nfl players because of lsu. If he would’ve stayed at Ohio st he would never have gotten to the pros.

Not just insurance. Total physical and mental health care. Plus an education. The best nutritional program and supplements. And the right to play in tiger stadium. Haha I would pay to do that

Out of state tuition and room and board is about 50k per year

That puts a 5 year scholarship at a quarter of a million dollars.
is that really not enough money to play football?

Don’t lie, it’s insulting. You don’t want to know what I think, what you’re really asking for is an opening to attack. It’s not clever, it’s ham fisted and obvious. Bro debates aren’t intelligent, they’re antithetical to the search for truth and common ground so my advice to you is, quit parroting their tactics.

What’s interesting is the capitalists on this board cannot take a centered view on anything. It’s all about market value determining your worth.
Market value says football players should earn more than a surgeon. I ask…which one is more important? Ditto for police, fire fighters, teachers, and anybody that truly keeps this country running.

I legitimately have no idea what you are trying to say with this.

would you work for free if someone paid your lodging and health insurance?
What a stupid comparison. A kid making his way through college is hardly the same as an adult out in the world making a living and possibly supporting a family. Lester, we know your world ends at age 22 when these kids finish the college careers, but life does exist after that age.

Look, I agree these guys bust their arse. Just because they bust their arse doesn’t make it a job.
That said…
They literally have tutors that will travel with the team at times.
How many players on a CFB roster have media obligations?
LSU guys frequented the same bars as me. Having a gameday curfew is not that big of a deal.
The fricking marching band a drill teams do this shite too
Pressures other students don’t face?
Paying your own way through school, balancing a tight budget and eating ramen while working a job at night is real pressure. Spare me this Bs.
You know, some people take their studies seriously and also have little time for this shite.

The market isn’t valuing college players properly since the employers can’t afford them.

Why ask such a stupid and rhetorical question? You know who pays them, if you don’t why are you even in this thread?
Posted on 12/7/24 at 12:32 pm to Madking
Damn do you have to be so hostile about everything? It’s a legitimate question. Are you referring to the fact that bigger schools can pay more for players than smaller schools?

You idiots keep trying to reference a market because you’ve heard hairpieces on TV and radio tell you that’s the adult way to look at it but the truth is there is no market in college football. Markets, have rules and safeguards, you people are retarded children.

So why did you literally just say that the market isn’t valuing college football players properly if there is no market? What market were you referring to?

Using his definition of it so he could understand. Again very simple, you’re either as dumb as a rock or completely disingenuous.
