big game against tennesee in 2005. Two years later we had one of the most dominating defenses in the nation and we win the national championship. If he can do that, then I have to have faith that Chavis can turn it around for us as well. I liked the aggressive blitz packages on the first drive but Sarkisian called better plays on the drive. I liked some of the changes made during the game with man coverage but some of the zone packages quite frankly sucked. I just hope we turn it around quickly...

It was good enough for a national championship. Nothing can compare to the 2003 if thats what you mean. The D was in the top 10 in all categories that year (2007). A defense ranked in the top 10% of all football is more than "hardly dominating". So WTF are you talking about?

Chavis can coach defense. I'm not sure LSU players are capable of learning.

Our defense has been giving up yardage and big plays since 04. Auburn 04, Ark. & SEC Champ game 05, and weren't great 06 and 07.This is with 2 head coaches and 4 Def. coordinators. Hopefully it gets better.

I've resigned myself to this line of thinking. Once is a fluke (end of '07), twice is a coincidence (last year), three times would tell the whole story. I'm going to wait until we play UGA and UF to make any judgement about this year's defense, but they've got some improvements to make.

A #3 ranking in total defense is pretty dominating.

If Chavis would coach 3rd down the way he coaches 1st and 2nd down this defense will be top 5 in the nation. ALL of their big plays came against 3rd and Chavis.
