eta: I say this sarcastically. LSU didn't have a leader on either side of the ball. Really, since Dorsey, who has LSU had as the team leader and spokesman? Not surprised that lower-than-expected seasons followed.

I really think Shep could step up next year and fill that roll... If Les would take the chains off from around his ankles.

I think we have guys to replace most of Lafell's production, but I will miss watching him here. He is now a complete receiver and I loved watching him play. Looking forward to seeing what team drafts him.

The last true leaders on our football team were:
Offense:
Hester

Defense:
Dorsey

nope I wont miss his cases of the droppsies. Ill take Randle every day who only dropped one pass all season.

and leadership

This is where losin him hurts.

I really think SHep could fill the void in team dynamics cause as everyone has said hes the best thing since Ice Cream, He Percy Harvin athletically and Tim Tebow leaderly(idc if its not a word), etc...

Reuben Randle will be a bigger asset in two years if he stays healthy. He has the build, the hands, and did you see some of the catches he made in pressure situations.....as a true frosh ?!!!

this is clearly bullshite. Charles Scott was every bit the leader Hester was. The biggest difference was who was handing the ball off to them.

Next year's leaders on offense will be T-Bob and Richard Murphy.

LOL. yea THAT's what the difference was. not that fact that we have 3 DT's playing O-line now compared to the NFL quality line we had back then (minus 1 player). Also the fact that Hester was a better pure short yardage guy.

I'm sure Les is keeping players from being leaders.

I've heard the players don't really like him

ETA: My friend's roommate last year was a walk on and said nobody liked Shep because he was so cocky. This was last year and is a third party hearing, so take it for what it's worth

Lafell showed a lot of leadership but couldn't catch a cold passed out in a snowbank

Lafell had some drops but he's had plenty clutch plays catching bad passes and fighting for yardage to save a dead drive. That's an example of leasership.

Anyone that doesn't think we are going to miss LaFell is nuts to put it very politely. Yes he dropped balls but he was far and away our best and most reliable receiver.
