Welcome, Sane Sooner!
Have you seen the twitter responses from OU fans to sports commentators praising Burrow’s accomplishments this year? There’s one after another declaring a burrow doesn’t deserve the Heisman over Hurts. While I know every fan base has their share of morons, the number of such posts on Twitter and message forums completely negate your statement that, “ None of us think that Hurts is better than Burrow.”
Looking forward to a fun game against OU!

I don't have twitter, so I can't really comment on that, but I have to imagine most of that is trolling. I'm basing my opinion on the many OU fans I know. I don't frequent dirtburglars, but I'm willing to bet that you won't find many (if any) posters on there that genuinely believe Hurts is better than Burrow. I do guarantee that you can find many "Bench JH/Start Rattler" threads.

I'm not seeing how your statement is relevant. I said top 2 -- not the best. What other conference has been consistently winning national championships? Meyer and Saban (and now Swinney) have had a stranglehold for years.

This board is proof that trolling is rampant but on Twitter, Dirtburglers and r/CFB OU fans have been pretty numerous and insistent about that stance and back their assertions with stats “proving” their case. I believe you are just a good fan of both OU and CFB who is realistic and have similarly well-rounded friends. Cheers to you

I just would think a "top 2" conference would at least be top 2 in national championships in the last twenty or so years.

NCs say a lot about a conference's #1 team. Very little about teams #2-10.

Link me to the dirtburglars posts. There are a lot of posts on there that I don't read, but the overall tone is very negative about Jalen.
Jalen's Heisman finalist thread over there doesn't have the posts you're describing to me.

I think it speaks to the overall depth of the conferences that the ACC has had three different schools and the SEC has had 4 different schools that have won championships since 2000.

20 years is a large sample size when trying to determine current strength of a conference. Much change has happened in the ACC since that 01' Miami team.
I would look 5 to 7 years back maybe. I haven't checked but I am willing to guess they have had at most 2 teams win a conference championship. Clemson and FSU maybe? With Clemson claiming at least the last 4-5. Not much parity in my eyes.

I don't understand why you guys keep bringing up the SEC. I never said the Big 12 was better than the SEC.
Also, 3/14 is nearly identical percentage-wise as 2/10. Teams in the Big 12 other than OU/Texas don't get the benefit of the doubt in CFP/BCS discussions. Oklahoma State could have beaten LSU for the national title the year that we were stuck with the Bama/LSU rematch. The year that Baylor and TCU got snubbed, they could have beaten anybody (TCU beat a supposed top 10 Ole Miss team 42-3 in their bowl game LINK
In addition to the 5 mentioned above, WVU has had BCS wins, and somehow KU has one too. KSU has had top 10 finishes as well. Tech narrowly missed the top 10 under Leach a few times, so we'll have to stretch it out to top 12 to include them.
In conclusion, 90% of the Big 12 teams have had top 12 finishes in the past 20 years, and most of them have BCS bowl wins to validate those seasons. I doubt many (if any) other conferences can say the same.
