Throwing a fade down the sideline doesn't take time to develop.

it does if the defense is playing press man coverage, against smaller WR, which 3 of our top 4 are...

Yea man, we have a 100 page playbook that includes nothing but routes that are 8 yards and shorter

Where do yall get this shite from? I mean honestly, do you really think LSU’s offense doesn’t have any plays that are designed to go deep? What an unbelievably stupid thread to make

I thought that we had guys open in the flat right away while we were trying to push the ball down the field. On first on second down pop the flat and get 7 to 8 yards....make them come make tackles in space. Get in 2nd / 3rd and short. When the coverage changes then push it down the field. It's Tom Brady 101.

I wish they'd throw deep ball early in the games to back the safeties up. even low probability passes out of bounds. just to keep that in the dbs mind

You mean like the one in the first drive that Nuss under threw from a clean pocket that was picked???

Yea that worked great.

They are going to push the ball up the field against the SEC opponents. Nussmeier will have to cut it loose earlier. So far he hasn’t been confident in doing that. Those attempts get throttled when you throw a deep ball interception on the first throw.

b/c we don't have a good enough OL to sustain blocks long enough for those routes to develop..

we really don't need to run deep routes all that often... i think crossing routes and mesh patterns would serve this offense best, as it does two things: gets the ball out quicker than a deep route, so our OL doesn't have to sustain pass blocking for an extended amount of time, and it utilizes our WR's speed best, b/c you if you hit them in stride, they are already at or close to full speed with the ball in the their hands, allowing for more YAC...

he's had time enough to throw to a receiver, but considering we are seeing 2 receivers in the same vicinity sometimes, it leads me to believe some of the routes weren't fully developed or run by the time he threw the ball...

of course, we seem to have some low football IQ receivers

some of our plays, the routes are either too intricate and take a long time to run, or they are too long down the field for him to have time to get the ball down there

i was hoping he could be broke of some of the bad habits he has, but he's still got them in his game

no need, i watched the game... i know what I saw...

Man I gotta tell ya. I had no clue we were in the presence of such a CFB savant… have you ever considered doing your own podcast? You seem to know it all and have all the answers.

Holy shite

The problem was last week that we had too many deep routes. With this OL especially without Braelon Moore the goal should be to get the ball out quickly in space to our playmakers like BB, AA, and Caden Durham and maybe even Harlem Berry now

Harlem Berry should continue to up his snaps and usage as the season goes. He's very good.

Brown should see 25-30% of the targets. Anderson 20-25%. Thomas 20-25%. The rest split between the TEs and RBs with Anderson sprinkled in. Parker and Hilton should just be doing Cardio when they're out there.

ETA: Brown pops more than the others IMO. He's got the tools to be the next great LSU WR.

Unless we can establish a running game, teams are going to continue to play two high safeties, making throwing deep very difficult. If we can run the ball, teams will have to creep the safeties in, making deep shots more available. But if the running game remains stagnant, it is going to be tough to get someone behind the safeties.
