'm pretty sure the average person can look at a guy standing at a urinal and tell whether they are actually peeing, or pouring something in a bottle.
exactly, if they are watching you you just don't do it because the chances of getting caught are to high. If they send you into the bathroom by yourself, as most places do in my experience, then you can do it.

yet Fulton did.
but somehow this is the NCAA's fault.

but why is it so hard to assume that other schools have educated their student athletes about what they will be tested for, and the ramifications for attempting to do something as stupid as use fake pee or someone elses pee?
Because all around the country kids are breaking actual laws even though they have been educated not to since they were born.
People break rules even when instructed not to. People attempt to substitute samples every single day in this country, knowing the ramifications of they get caught. It’s a simple benefit/cost consideration that some choose to roll the dice.
I don’t know how you could think this is the first time this has actually been attempted by an 18 y/o kid.
Regardless of the punishment, there is a high probability this has happened before and since the incident.

LSU compliance being shitty
Our compliance department seems to be more strict than most programs. Not sure where this is coming from.

So why is Smith playing this year and Fulton isn't?
Because he didn't provide a false sample.

Lovely punctuation. Learn to read
The point was that kids break rules, despite knowing the consequences. I didn’t mention the NCAA once.

I meant shitty from a fan's standpoint. Wish they would let some shite slide
And I do realize that Fulton seems to have been caught by an NCAA official. The only one to ever be caught, apparently.

Thanks for the enlightening information.
It doesn’t matter if you mentioned the NCAA or not, that is the governing body of college athletics.
And here’s another thing you didn’t mention, but I’ll say it: if Kristian Fulton were a student at Alabama , auburn , ole miss, or Texas A&M, you better be damn sure LSU fans would be gloating at their opponents misfortune and complimenting the NCAA for “getting it right”.

You are really going out of your way to miss the point of this thread.

Bylaw 3.3 covers athletes that attempt "to alter the integrity of the collection process," which results in a one-year suspension
Fulton is getting screwed royally. He also cannot redshirt making it the eqivalent of a 3 year ban imo. 1 year left to play and play perfectly and healthy to get drafted.

Hey it’s cool you want to create arguments for yourself to participate in, but it makes you look like a bit of a tool.
You are all over the place.

because its a stupid thread that you made when a cursory google search could have shown you its unprecedented.
so either you made a disingenuous thread out of aggravation with the results of the appeal hearing, or were too lazy to go look for yourself and expected the rant to provide the information for you.

Right, which is why I don’t get this stance that our compliance office should be at fault for not educating our players. Not arguing with you just trying to keep a conversation going with a topic that has gone a million directions

Pardon my ignorance, but how long do athletes have to report to give a urine sample? OBVIOUSLY, there are many, many athletes using opioids, MJ and/or certainly PEDs yet never get caught. Quite simply, the athletes who are busted have not been educated on in the proper way to pass the test like the other thousands of athletes in college/professional athletics.

It’s a program integrity issue. Bama may not report when their athletes get caught cheating.

Never heard of it til Fulton and can't find any dirt on other players.
First sentence of first post. I asked a question and several helped to answer it. Then we were discussing why it has never happened civilly until you came in blaming Ed O and LSU and Fulton, making an NCAA arugument that had zero to do with the discussion, and generally shitting all over the place. You haven't stayed on topic once and frankly you don't seem to have the attention span to do so. So do us a favor and frick right off.

The outrage has to do with the post directly above yours. The spirit of the rule is that you're supposed to get an additional year for trying to cheat the test beyond the suspension you were already getting for failing the test. Here, he didn't fail the test. So, he should only get one year for trying to cheat the test. You don't see anybody trying to cheat the test and fail the test get three years do you?
