Orgeron...more regular season wins = more money for him.

A little oddity in Orgeron's contract:

Win 10 Games: Extra $100K
Win 11 Games: Extra $150K
Win 12 Games: Extra $200K

I don't remember seeing this in other coach's contracts (I could be wrong.) Most get bonuses for bowl games, conference champion, coach of the year, etc. which his also includes.

This clause is called "Regular Season Victory Incentive."

I would think keeping my job would be the incentive. Maybe Alleva pays Orgeron these incentives out of his own pocket for saving his job, too. Obviously, the bar is officially set at 9 wins.

This:

quote:

Win 10 Games: Extra $100K
Win 11 Games: Extra $150K
Win 12 Games: Extra $200K

Leads to this:

quote:

Most get bonuses for bowl games, conference champion, coach of the year, etc.

Nope, but we'll get a new AD and coach.

This. If he gets paid for wins, I hope that fricker has to have a Brinks truck backed up to his shrimp boat to dump the pounds and pounds of cold hard cash at his white rubber boots.

Wait...I'm supposed to be pulling for him to lose...right?

Dammit...will someone tell me what I think again?

If any of that happens Alleva will do the boneheaded thing, and extend his contract with a huge yearly raise for 7-10yrs!!! His gift to LSU after he's fired down the road.

Even if we win 10 games this season no one is going to come knocking at Orgeron’s door for a better coaching gig....which better equal his contact stays as is. Now should he hit that number two years in a row it will be time to open up the check book for a new 4 year deal.

Are these stacked or cumulative? i.e., does he get a total of $450k for winning 12 games or $200k?
