If you ask a coach what they want with 2 minutes and the ball theylle tell you a first down.

Not 1 minute off the clock and a 3 and out

Again, it’s a failure to be able to move tha ball.

No. No they don't. There's no blaming the offense for the loss. There's plenty of blame to go around.

I blame Chavis, not Miles for the 2012 peach bowl loss.

It’s not like we took a knee. We tried to get a first down by running the ball. Are you not confident with the highest paid DC and the strength of our team on the field forcing the opponent to go 90 yards to tie?

I was more confident in Aranda than a 55% completion QB, Jefferson, and troupe of freshman WRs. The higher percentage play is to run and force A&M to burn their timeouts.

Because they forced A&M to use all of their timeouts. C'mon Sammy.

Against an OC turned HC that signed the biggest contract in CFB history? No - you end the game on offense.

What does monetary value have to do with the fact that his offense had like 50 yards of passing all second half before the defense laid down on that last drive?

Most coaches would’ve played it just like we did...now if we had a 3pt lead they probably play more aggressive. Also the D had shut down A&M most of the 2nd half.

Exactly. It was the safe thing to do. The defense had shut them down in the second half. Be safe and let your defense win it for you. It's a nobrainer. The majority of the time it works out. Who knew that the defense would totally collapse and proceed to shite the bed for 7 OTs. Totally unbelievable.

Chavis should get some of the blame, but Miles should get the lion's share of the blame since he was the head coach. Just like Aranda should get some of the blame for the 2018 A&M loss, but o should get the majority of the blame since he is the head coach.

Pretty similar circumstances between the games as far as I recall. All we needed was a first down with less than 2 minutes to play to force Clemson to start using their timeouts and after getting 8 yards on first down, Miles has the offense pass the ball on second and third down, which are both incomplete, giving Clemson the ball back with all their timeouts to go the length of the field for the game winning field goal.

Boneheaded move by Miles not to run the ball on at least one of those downs to try to get the first down in my opinion. Then Clemson converts a 4th and long to get a first down and just moves right down the field to win the game.

I do blame Chavis for the 2014 Music City Bowl loss to Notre Dame. If he wasn't going to put in the time and effort to coach that game, he should have let Miles know of his intentions to leave for A&M.

You could ask what monetary value has to do with Aranda and his unit constantly being asked to bail the team out.

I don't think it's bailing anyone out to expect them to hold A&M 1:29 with 79 yards to go. The offense forced A&M to burn it's timeouts, making it much harder for A&M to make that drive as you've effectively removed the middle of the field. The defense still couldn't hold.

Agreed... Hill was having a monster game and Miles wentaway from that... Lets think about something though.. You really did have key players on defense who were just playing not to get hurt..... That would effect their draft stock....

However The LSU offense was clicking until MILES put the brakes on..... MILES is the reason Clemson ran almost 100 plays...........

He should have ran all three, used clock and forced Clemson to use timeouts.

But the killer was the 4th and very long conversion by Clemson.

The defense held them for almost the entire second half.

I think it's telling that they give up that one drive and that's seen as some huge failure. They have an incredible standard to uphold whereas not much is expected of the offense.

None of this matters except the FACT that if LSU makes a 1st down the game is over.......................

Of course. The offense made A&M burn its timeouts and the defense had to do its job and hold what had been an extremely inept Mond for 1:29.
