Oregon Fan thoughts on the game

I've only seen a couple.....Look, I understand that bias will cloud judgement here and there, but good grief. This one was worth posting here. Sure, it was just 1 guy, but sheesh. It's early too. I'm sure there will be alot more going on closer to game time.
In comparison to Boise St.

Second, LSU's defense is big, but much slower than BSU's. Their D line won't last very long having to chase Oregon's RB's sideline to sideline all day. From what I've seen from LSU, they're not super deep on the D-Line, so putting in a quality player to give the starters a breather will be tough for them. When LSU has to dedicate more players to stop the run game, the passing game will open up with a much better QB than Masoli ever was, who can stretch the field (Albeit with unproven receivers).

I think Oregon's speed (both the team's speed, and the speed of the game) will hit LSU hard in the late 3rd quarter. The roof will most likely be open at Cowboys stadium, so the heat and humidity will be a factor. I don't see it bothering Oregon as much as some people may think. Oregon handled it just fine when they went to Tennessee last year.

Oh, don't get me wrong! I didn't say it happened here! Something like that would never happen on this board!

I don't know. I think we acknowledge the things Oregon does well and have great respect for James and Thomas and their stud CB whose name escapes me right now. We've never accused them of being slow. Most of us are optimistic because of all the linemen they must replace on both sides of the ball.
For someone to say that LSU is not deep on the d-line when 10 or 11 guys will rotate without much difference in quality, that's tough not to laugh at. And it's hard to take a person seriously who describes our defense as slower than Boise Freaking State.

If you think about it their best defensive player is a 5'10 inch CB. Not saying he inst a good player but unless he can jump like a gazelle he will be in for a long night. Even with JJ not playing his best game.

Oh boy, that Tennessee humidity...

You should send that guy the chris low blog about our defense.

We are gonna have to disagree! TM is a beast an very similar in height

Yes but Mathieu is not our best player. He might not even be our best CB. He's going to cover the slot and blitz Thomas.
That being said, Harris is a legit player. Next to maybe Kirkpatrick he'll be the best CB we play all season. However, unless their defensive line gets pressure on the QB, even the best CB will get beat. I like the matchup of our offensive line v their young defensive line.

Agreed. Here's a list of the d-linemen that will see significant PT against Oregon. Montgomery, Adams, Edwards, Mingo, Brockers, Downs, Freak, and Ferguson. Agayhere and a couple of others will see the field as well.
If that's not depth, I don't know what is.

The defense is not as fast as Boise St's defense either.

We are gonna have to let the season play out, but IMO Dre is wayyy overrated, and TM has cover skills that will shine on 1st and 2nd down

I doubt the roof will be open.

Do they know that if they throw the ball there is a 90% deviation rate? Which means that LSU's secondary will be like hawks taking the ball out the air.
I watch Oregon play Auburn. They don't scare me nearly as much as LSU should scare them after watching aTm.
