You don’t think 11-1 is likely? Why not? This year’s team and schedule is set up for it, maybe even 12-0 with a little luck (it always takes some luck to go undefeated).

11-1 would be the prediction if you go in and do a game-by-game prediction. there are 11 games that we should win. BUT 4 or 5 of those are sort of close, so playing the odds it’s more likely that we suffer a loss in that stretch than that we don’t

10-2.

I don't think this is the year we beat Bama, and I won't until we finally do, and we're gonna drop another game. I feel like it's Florida but who knows. I feel like this team is talented enough, but just as in years past there will be a week that we don't play our best and the team we play will be at their best, and it will be just enough to beat us. It will lay a great groundwork for the team though for the next few years we'll be really good.

I’m still not sold on the OL but if they show the improvement necessarily and we avoid injuries at key positions we can beat anyone. The focus seems better than ever on this team and the senior leadership is something we haven’t had in a while.

We will beat Bama this year. Might not keep them out of playoffs but we will beat them.

I'd love to compare the comments in this thread with the same thread from this time last season.

I think 10-2 is very doable and any less should be considered an underachievement. 11-1 or 12-0, while possible, is going to be tougher that most here think.

We absolutely CAN.

Chances are we won't, but we definitely CAN.

LSU has to get itself mentally prepared and believe that it can beat Alabama. They must believe.

I would absolutely love 11-1, but we always seem to frick up one game that we should have won. This happens every season.

I'm not picking LSU to beat Alabama until it happens.

I hate to say it, but I see this team dropping another game somewhere (Auburn, Florida, Texas, Texas A&M).

I think we all agree that beating Alabama is quite the feat. However, Orgeron has always dropped a game he shouldn't have where LSU, top to bottom, was the superior team:

2016 - Florida
2017 - Troy and Notre Dame
2018 - Florida and Texas A&M

I agree, we should go 11-1. We should be favored in all except for Alabama. But until then, I still say we drop another game that we shouldn't.

The Tx game will tell us if this is a 10-2 or a 12-0 team, bottom line.

10-2. As others have mentioned we seem to always lose a game when we are the better team but just come out flat and don't play well.

I am through predicting "this is the year we beat Bama" until we actually do.

I am not as optimistic about the OLine as some others are. They underachieved last season and it's the same players, except for the freshman who I don't think can be expected to be a factor. The Oline has to improve for us to go 11-1 or better.

Hopefully we won't have any major injuries either.

I predicted we would go 7-5 last season so I hope I'm wrong again and we win more than 10.

Yeah no

we were legitimately a few plays away from being 11-1 last year so why is that impossible? defense will be even better, and while the offense might not be one of the best in the nation, I expect them to be quite a bit better than last year. 10-2 is the floor this year, no excuses

Certain posters don't like it when you people say things like this. You're supposed to be extremely optimistic but without any actual tangible expectations or standards. Get it right!
