We need better play from a Left Tackle.

I like Malone and I think he's a good kid. He looks good at times, but at other times? Not so good.

Hoping that we can get a Redeculus surprise coming in next year.

Tuehema, Clapp, and Dodd need to be on the inside of the OL next year. The two tackle spots should be open.

This. I'd like to see Campbell if Clapp leaves or if Clapp moves to center

Left tackle is certainly a concern and we have too many guards. Poor OL recruiting philosophy. Cam Robinson should be our LT. biggest recruiting miss in the last 5 years. Our O line is still better than most but needs to get better in all aspects to play in the playoff

Pass protection has improved and run blocking is sketchy at best - seems to me to be related to the constant shuffling of players from guard to tackle and back again - cohesive unit is what provides timing and consistency. The variation in formations and motion of RBs and receivers has taken some of the pressure off the pass rush too so credit Ensminger for that - not to mention Etling being serviceable.

Yes, Cam Rob was a miss; I don't think we ever had a shot at him frankly, so "miss" is a much better word than "lost" I suppose.

Which has me thinking... in those cases, what's the route to go when the almost-sure fire recruits we lose on:
A) play interior guys out of position [seems to be current]?
B) go for plan B which is undersized but has the athleticism/footwork?
C) go for size, but has played OT, and work on the footwork?

Need to credit the Louisiville cline as well - their LB corp was short handed but they are a top 25 defense - not a pushover

We also just had two young OT that would have been in the mix to compete for the job on either side transfer...

You're right - a OL of:

LT Cam Rob
LG Clapp
C Pocic
RT Tehuma
RT Weathersby

would've been beastly.

It just seems that every year we're saying "we've got all the pieces in place except for ______". Usually it's QB, but this year it was OL in the big games. 2013 it was young DB's when we finally had a stud QB. Next year I fear it will be LB depth (one D. White injury from being really weak there.)

Missing out on cam rob lost miles his job. We have a lot of quality guards, zero tackles. Couple young guys but who knows if they'll work out. Hopefully a freshan can come here and save the day otherwise probably the same kind of year next year.

We won inspite of the O line. The run blocking was atrocious. Pass protection was not much better. We won this game because our D was totally dominant.

Pocic and Clapp are steady warhorses
I hope to God Clapp comes back next year.

Pocic got his arse smoked and handed to him today regularly and throughout the season! The o line play has been horrendous since the arrival of Grimes from his first year here until now. The line had never been dominant on a consistent basis as in years past before him.
Only true tackle on the team playing center is f'ng mind boggling!

Grimes has been very underwhelming thats for certain. Has he even been much of a difference maker in OL recruiting? His coaching sure hasnt

What I think is that the staff needs to check in here every day to get their marching orders from the Rant...that would simplify and solve all the little wrinkles that need to be ironed out...lol

Grimes has been an extremely disappointing hire. Our O lines have been very average since his arrival.

Will Grimes stay is the question. What we don't know is how much did Miles meddle with the line?
