I think we may have ended up losing to Ole Miss or A&M had he stayed
miles didn't lose to team that couldnt stop the run
A&m 2016 run defense was 84th in opponents rushing yards per game. 2016 ole miss was 117th in opponents rushing yards per game.

what accomplishments?
Orgeron's program was #6 in the AP final poll last season.
Here are the HC's who finished ahead of Coach O:
Dabo Swinny
Nick Saban
Urban Meyer
Lincoln Riley
Brian Kelly
Ed Orgeron finishing 6th in his 2nd full season is an accomplishment. To say it isn't, is silly. Just silly.

so what do you use to judge how well O is recruiting?
watching the all 22 film from each lsu commit?

Jimbo Fisher got hired and lost 4 games in his first season, and some on this board still wish we massively overpaid the guy.
O had the 2nd most nfl draft picks in all of cfb in 2017 and lost 4 games. 1 of them was to a midmajor with zero NFL draft picks and zero 4 star recruits

cool.
this just happened to be the year where the top ranked 3 loss team was ranked 6th.
we were the top ranked 3 loss team in 2012 but finished the season 12th.
for the record I think last year was a decent year.

hell finishing top 25 is an accomplishment.

What I’m saying is I don’t tout overall team composite. When he lands a big player at a position of need though I am happy. He has done a lot of that in this recruiting class. And yes, I do watch the film. Not all of it, but some.

what do you use to determine whether or not a recruit is a "big player"?

and when this class is signed sealed and delivered I will give O credit for it.

will, however, give credit to the recruiting he is doing on the d-line, a position group we have been sorely lacking at for a while.
he has been the dline coach since 2015. if that position has been lacking then he had a hand in it.

Yeah, well that is just your spin. Below (in bold) are hard facts, not spin:

Dabo Swinny
Nick Saban
Urban Meyer
Lincoln Riley

Ed Orgeron finishing 6th in his 2nd full season is an accomplishment (to sane people). To say it isn't, is silly. Just silly.

Makes me laugh how Goofball Joe has to copy and paste his previous post and then put it in bold, like you missed something the first time.
Everybody knows where we finished at the end of last season.

the laughable part is he couldnt give a single frick about lsu.
he would be perfectly fine with lsu losing every game but Burrow being a Heisman Finalist.

While I agree with that, O’s ability to recruit the d-line as an assistant coach still boils down to the head coach to a certain extent. For example, at the end of the day the HC gets to decide position allotment for the recruiting class, and has a guiding hand in where his assistant coaches are recruiting. It always felt like Miles was almost scared to recruit heavily out of state.

I don't understand why posting facts are so damning to some fans. I really don't get it.
We all know we finished at #6. I think UCF was overrated but I do give O credit for getting to a NY6 bowl.
Overall, I think it was a better than average season. I want to see a great season.

Agree. You call him out on his garbage and he turns into the kid that he is. He just loves to troll the board.

if you really want to piss the cult off just post our record against P5 programs that were good enough to not lose 5 or more games in 2017 and 2018.

I think we got a little bit of special treatment from the media voters because I don’t think they thought we deserved the A&M loss either if I’m being honest. With that being said. We were ranked I think 7 before the A&M game and what 11 after? So yea we jumped but we also benefitted from some fortunate losses of teams in front of us. Funny thing is, if we had won the A&M game we would have gone up to 5th or 6th, would have been talked about for the playoff but probably not make it like Georgia, would have played Texas instead of UCF, and if we won probably still end up ranked 5th, one spot off where we ended anyway. It’s like the A&M loss didn’t affect our ranking at all.

I'm not trying to piss anyone off, not saying you are either for that matter, but I actually remember you posting some objective facts about O and you hit the nail on the head with that post.
None of it was bashing, they were simply, well, facts. All of what you posted sums up my concerns as we get to the beginning of another football season.
