It’s hard to look at the way things played out and argue other conferences were shortchanged. At most, the ACC will be the only other conference with 2 teams in Omaha. Coastal Carolina is the only one of the 5 teams in the CWS with any legitimate claim to a Top 8 seed that wasn’t. In hindsight you could argue that Georgia or Auburn should have been replaced in the Top 8, but Coastal Carolina was only 3-4 headed into the tournament against #1 or #2 seeds. At most the SEC had only one more Top 8 seed than they deserved.
Likewise with hosting, Ole Miss only played their way to host spot in the SEC tournament, which clearly wasn’t a very good indicator of anything. Georgia Tech should have hosted as ACC champs, but they didn’t make it out of regionals either.

MSU, Oklahoma, and Kentucky all made it to the regional finals. They met or exceeded their expectations given their seeds. I’m not sure how you conclude they didn’t belong just because some higher ranked SEC teams had a bad weekend.

They won 23 straight and they're the hottest team right now. I don't care who you're playing 23 straight is impressive. Argument can be made they're a top 2 team in Omaha right now maybe top team. They're good.

Yea, not arguing that. Arguing they deserved to be a top 8 seed based on what they did through out the year. I'm just saying it wasn't some great injustice where they landed and about right, give or take a spot or two either way but you could say that about the whole top 16.

Of all the Omaha teams right now I'd be worried about Coastal Carolina outside obviously Arkansas.
