The offense was revived because we played the 117th ranked run defense.
Etling threw for like 220 in that game as well. The play calling set up big plays. In every win under O we possessed a potent offense. Hell even against UF we had 400+ yds of offense on a good defense. You are wrong. Admit that he played a part in it.

So as far as you are concerned, Coach Aranda or coach Canada are better qualified than coach O and would have made a better hire.
Yes.
Which has proven he can run a successful side of the ball?
Aranda= yes
O= no

Okay, who was the available successful head coaches suitable to become the head coach at LSU?
Anyone that has proven he can run a successful program.

Really, I wasn't aware that we had another coach on the staff with head coaching experience.
So wait? You want us to forget about Os tenure at ole miss until its useful to one of your arguments?
Neither aranda nor Orgeron have proven they can run a successful program.
Aranda has proven he can run a verg successful side of the ball at 2 different p5 programs.
O has never prove he can run a successful side of the ball.

You have no proof he has anything tp do with the offense. Im using his 32 year career to form my opinion on it.
He has never been an offensive coach.
Since he is so good at developing an offense, why has he never once been an offensive coach?

You are failing to follow along. Nobody said he completely developed an offense. I said he played a part in changing the play calling the rest of the year. You DO NOT have to be a coordinator to do that. He was making the decisions as interim just like a head coach. They have the ability to do that. It's not that hard to understand

Steve ensminger on his offense. Does it say anything about ed orgeron?
quote:
All of this, of course, began Sept. 25, when the school fired Miles and Cameron. Ensminger’s first action was a meeting with the offensive staff, assigning each member a duty. He put offensive line coach Jeff Grimes in charge of the running game and receivers coach Dameyune Craig over the passing game.
Eric Mateos, a graduate assistant, replaced Ensminger working with tight ends, and he handled goal line and short yardage, he said. Two other graduate assistants were put in charge of offensive packages geared for inside the 20-yard line and inside the 10-yard line.
“It was a whole group deal. It really was,” said Ensminger, who received a lump sum of $75,000 for his role in the interim and another $13,000 during the two weeks of bowl preparation, in addition to his normal salary.
“I can’t say enough about our coaches and graduate assistants, who would stay up there with me at night until 12-12:30 at night to make sure we had everything done.”
Running backs coach Jabbar Juluke worked with Ensminger on the biggest change the staff made: incorporating the play-action pass. That’s something the program did not use enough with Miles and Cameron in charge of the unit, Ensminger indicated.
“I’ve always felt we were a run football team and then we were a spread team,” Ensminger said of LSU’s previous offense. “I never thought we complimented our running game with play-action pass. … Offensively, we always felt we were better than what we were showing. For those kids to get out there and work like they did and to show what we could do offensively… and they did.”

Ill admit O put more of an emphasis on offense rather than the ball controlled offense of miles.
But i still say he didnt run or gameplan the offense.
I'm done for the night bro.

You think Ensminger is going to say what he had Orgeron(his boss) do? Lol
He changed the offense period!

I admit he put more of an emphasis on offense but he didnt gameplan or call offensive plays.
I dont count saying" open up the offense" as having a hand in the offense.
Our offense looked exactly the same except more passes over the middle.
We were still an i formation power run team even under O. Thats not changing the offense.

We were more deceptive and not nearly as predictable. Whatever man if you can't give the man credit for anything positive he has done then so be it. I'm not arguing anymore

What? I give him credit for keeping the class intact. Im not gonna give him credit for the offense, just like i didnt give miles credit for the defense.

I couldn't give a crap about O's Ole Miss experience. He was a new inexperienced head coach, there was a sharp learning curve, he tried to micromanage everything and probably took a little longer than necessary to rebuild the program, but the important thing is he has demonstrated that he has learned from his many mistakes. Meanwhile, people astronomically far smarter and infinitely far more qualified than a Miles crack head like you highly recommended O for the job.
I further wouldn't have supported giving the job of LSU's head coach to a successful coordinator, unless that coordinator had been formerly a long time coach at LSU like Jimbo Fisher and was very familiar with what he was getting himself into at LSU. Which rules out both Aranda or Canada. Maybe in a couple of more years, I would consider them to be qualified for the job if they do a good job here but at this time I don't.
As for as an available successful head coach goes, you don't even have a candidate in mind or even know if there was anyone that was available or even interested. Not to mention that route would have also been far more expensive and far more disruptive and would have also obliterated this season's recruiting class, which would have hurt the program for years to come.
In other words, you condemn the hiring of O but like a hypocrite, you don't even have a suitable alternative in mind. Just like I figured you did. Figures.

Uh, miles wouldve beaten the teams we beat under Orgeron as well.
This is asinine. You cant PROVE this! And with you being a lover of all things FACTS...this statement...coming from you...is complete BS.

Rickidiot, please just shut the hell up and back your coach. The trash you spew is worse and worse by the day. Get Less Miles' dick out of your mouth, and support your team.
Posted on 5/2/17 at 9:33 pm to RedTigerRulz
Exactly if that were true then why was Miles 2-2 without even facing a ranked opponent? Ogeron beat ranked teams Miles didn't with the same exact roster. Miles could barely beat Jacksonville st. And miss st. You mean to tell me hed've beat Louisville and ole miss lmfao? I understand questioning the hire I sure did but piling on with nothing but biased non true bullshite is dumb. These fans should be shunned next season when we start wining.

Of course you can't prove it, however, again, logic.
Miles last 4 seasons:
10-3
10-3
8-5
9-3
2016 Final Record 8-4
Miles won by being stubborn, beating most of the teams he should, and losing to 1 or 2 teams he shouldn't and winning the occasional game against those he probably shouldn't win. That's pretty much been every season since 2011. Most likely that trend sticks last season, there was very little evidence that we were really declining, we just obviously weren't ever going to get better under Miles.
There's a high probability that Miles ends the season at 8-4 or 9-3 just based on pure statistics.
FWIW, I wanted Miles gone every season for the last 3 seasons when it was clear he wasn't going to change his plan. This isn't to defend Miles, but O didn't do anything phenomenal last season. I wish I could bet on it, because I'd throw down quite a bit on Miles finishing with the exact same record in nearly the same fashion, but in typical Miles fashion he probably trades Fla for TAMU.

You're forgetting Mikes lost 2 of the 4 this past season. So we were 6-2 not 8-4 under the new regime.

These ppl need to go and cheer for Miles new team.. Oh wait nobody wants that clown.

Moot point, there's no indication that O goes 2-2, 1-3 or 4-0. So we have no idea what his record is either. But looking at the trend, and we have a lot more data on Miles, Miles could have gone 6-2, easily, to close the season out. Again, he's routinely finished with an 9-3-ish type record every single year.
