drastically under the speed limit

It's different coming from Oklahoma (down the old Route 66?)

When you're coming from Baton Rouge, the traffic...can be terrific! Going through Houston and San Antonio is no joke; heck even getting out of Baton Rouge can be a challenge!

Drove out too. But had the extra time to kill. Nice, relaxing drive. At least the speed limit was 80 through west Texas.

Yes it is. Drove BR to Tucson when LSU played U Arizona in early 2000s.

The 80mph speed limit but it really didn’t matter, did 100 through as much of West Texas as I could. 6 hours of nothing isn’t all that awesome

What route did you take? That drive should take right at 30 hours, just stopping for gas.

That ~600 mile stretch of highway from San Antonio to El Paso is mostly empty and rural. Doing it in 8 hours is realistic.

Drove from east central Oklahoma to Los Angeles two years ago in 20 hours. Drove from here to BR last year in 10 hours.

I drove from BR to Bellingham, WA once helping a relative move. It was like 41 hours

Almost ran out of gas right out of Van Horn, forgot how far and few between gas stations are out there.

The drive back seems twice as long, so you have that to look forward to.

Twice as long if you're lucky. I can't imagine what it would feel like driving back in a car full of women if the Tigers lose. Listening to them go on and on about why we lost would not be fun. Only plus would be that there's lots of desert to hide the bodies in.

Atlanta is on the outer range of what's tolerable for me. Drove to near Oklahoma City a few years ago and Beaufort, SC last year which were both painful.

On a train in Williams heading for the Grand Canyon. Will get loaded tonight and drive icy roads to the game in the morning.

Those of you that took I-10 instead of I-40 made the right call.

Brutal. The farthest I driven is about 1250 miles from Alexandria to Baltimore.

New Mexico drive sucks almost as bad as West Texas.
