We need our boys focus on this game. I know Ole Piss is going to play us tough. Haven’t kept up with them. Anybody has a scouting report on them?

They're a 3 TD dog, LSU wins if they actually show up and play ball. I think Burrow should beat an LSU single season QB passing yardage record this Sat.

My take away is that Burrow should throw for 400 yards and 4 TDs (crazy but true). That is our strength vs. their weakness, which doesn't bode well for the Rebels. Their rushing game is great, but goes into our strength which is surprisingly our rushing defense. Their passing offense is even more horrific than our pass defense, so it might be a good game for Stingley to get some confidence back. I hope they test him.

Bottom line, while Ole Miss is playing much better than their record, this is a great matchup for LSU and we should take care of business. We just need to make sure there is no Bama hangover because this Rebel team is definitely capable of keeping it close with their rushing attack if we come out sluggish.

LSU Passing Offense:
YPG: 366 (2nd)
Compl. %: 76% (1st)
QBR: 187.9 (4th)
YPA: 9.9 (7th)

Ole Miss Passing Defense:
Opponent YPG: 270.3 (109th)
Opponent Compl. %: 65.2% (113th)
Opponent QBR: 136.4 (74th)
Opponent YPA: 7.3 (62nd)

----------------------------------------

LSU Rushing Offense:
YPG: 163.8 (58th)
YPC: 4.6 (49th)

Ole Miss Rushing Defense:
Opponent YPG: 129.6 (28th)
Opponent YPC: 3.7 (29th)

----------------------------------------

Ole Miss Passing Offense:
YPG: 181 (105th)
Compl. %: 55% (104th)
QBR: 116.3 (106th)
YPA: 6.6 (96th)

LSU Passing Defense:
Opponent YPG: 240.8 (82nd)
Opponent Compl. %: 52.6% (12th)
Opponent QBR: 122.9 (32nd)
Opponent YPA: 7 (46th)

----------------------------------------

Ole Miss Rushing Offense:
YPG: 250.6 (12th)
YPC: 5.4 (13th)

LSU Rushing Defense:
Opponent YPG: 108.6 (12th)
Opponent YPC: 3.2 (15th)

Note: Stats are from here and don't include non D1 opponents, which I prefer

Their rushing statistics are skewed because their quarterback is more of a runner than a passer.

Freshman QB who has more rushing yards than passing yards. QB rating of 105.1. Burrow’s rating is 202.5.

As a team Ole Miss averages more yards rushing (247/game) than passing (187/game).

Skewed isn’t the right word. Triple option teams with running QBs aren’t penalized in rushing statistics. The QB runs for them are designed, he’s a freak runner. Absolutely flies.

Running QB and a good freshman RB. Besides that not much

Their strength is the running game, one of, if not the best in the SEC. They have a freshman QB, Plumlee, who is fast and very athletic but has struggled in the passing game and a freshman RB who we recruited, Jerrion Ealy. The other QB, Corral, is the better passer, but has seen his playing time decrease over the past few games.

Their front seven on defense is a stable unit, led by Benito Jones, and has been successful at getting pressure on the QB, which is a cause for concern with us being without two starters and one backup on the o-line. Their backfield has struggled stopping the pass for much of the season, which should open up some passing lanes for Burrow and Co., provided the on-line can give him time to throw.

I look for the bear-sharks to score some points, maybe enough to cover the spread, but it is still a game the Tigers should win, going away, unless we have a very bad case of Anal Glaucoma!

The Georgia Southern preparation will help with this game and we have e faved a good amount of running qbs already.

I live in Ms. now for my job and I saw the Coach interviewed on local TV. He is stressing to beat LSU, in order to have a Bowl Game. They have to win for Bowl eligibility. That's what the players are playing for.

I agree, G.S. and Texas prepared LSU well going forward against running QB's.

This. They can't even make up their minds on a mascot. Ole Miss this decade has evolved into a program with no purpose or direction, and I feel LSU will beat them soundly.

To be quite honest, I'm more concerned about Arkansas next week trying to straighten things out with an interim coach.

Not really, but I'm not concerned about Ole Miss at all, like so many here are. They're an inferior team with a coach who's hardly one of the best in the SEC, and all this worry is unfounded.

This, IMO, is the sort of game that Joe and this team relishes.

28-0 mid 2nd qtr. OM eventually has to try to throw the ball and Stingley gets his first pick 6.
65-17 Tigers.

O makes a statement.
