A lot of folks here seem to forget McCaffrey was a healthy scratch for his bowl game that same year, but point fingers at LF for “opting” out and never say a word about Christian.

Fournette was ran into the ground by Les Miles. He should of opted out of his bowl game regardless of his injury status.

He wasn’t right that whole season minus the 67,452,574 yard effort against Ole Miss

He was clearl injured. Was never a thing for me.

Yeah he played that whole season hurt. I’ve never understood the revisionist history that he quit on the team or didn’t give it his all or whatever

Do people here actually think he wasn’t committed to the team and LSU?

People who shite on LF7’s LSU legacy are butt hurt that he couldn’t singlehandedly run through 9 Alabama 5 star defenders and win the game by himself. fricking stupidity.
He was a great Tiger and likely the best running back we’ve ever had.

He was injured most of the year and still sucked it up. I have no problem with him not playing due to injury in a meaningless bowl game. And I am old school. These middle of the season opt outs however...............

You are so wrong about this dude. If coach knows a player is going pro after the bowl game and he’s banged up, playing him in a meaningless game is idiotic and selfish. The game means nothing. The player’s future is huge to him and generations of family. Some of y’all are clueless.
Not to mention our coach knew we had Guice.
And it’s a great opp for mew guys to get more practice reps and PT going into the next season.
No brainer here for the coach.

How many have his attitude nowadays?
Posted on 1/10/21 at 10:49 am to LSUStar
I feel like it’s less than it was at the time, but I saw a few posters saying it in the fournette thread last night and just wanted to make everyone aware of this fact.

Its amazing how people forget McCafrey also opted out of a meaningless bowl game that year. He caught very little flack.

Dale Brown wasn’t much of a coach.

LFs performance against Ole Miss, 16 carries for 284 yards might be the single most dominating program CME I’ve witnessed in person.
And that doesn’t take into account the DB he murderered on that swing pass.

Thanks for reminding me of that...my narrative seems to have somehow shifted to the “opt out” narrative.
