Does anyone know what the celebration where the player appears to be putting on a seatbelt means? Every game the players do this over and over again.Every game across the country.

Cornerbacks do it to signal they are strapped to the wide receiver tightly like a seatbelt.

What’s wrong with these kids now a days? Why can’t they just do an animated fist pump and let out a “frick yeah” or whatever. Not all this shooting guns, buckling up the seatbelt, putting on the shades, etc.

I always thought they were acting out putting a sword back in it’s sheath after killing someone

DB's do it to show that they put the receiver in a seat belt.Which means that he locked him down.

lmao i guess the average poster is older on here is older than i thought ??. no they’re doing like how you buckle up in a car in a seatbelt. mostly dbs because they are “strapped in” and can’t go anywhere . saying they are playing good coverage

I legit thought they were holstering a sword.

Or they could do a super flex over the opponent… The Rant loves that one! I see you M Burns…

Since we are talking about celebrations, I also have a question
wtf is the deal with the celebration where the player sniffed his finger. Sometimes it can be followed by a first down signal or whatever else they do
wtf is this?
I answered my own question:
Should have known it was some ghetto thug BS

I answered my own question:
quote:
When Deshaun Watson makes a big play this season, the Texans quarterback often celebrates with a gesture that looks like he's wiping his nose.
It's something he's done from the first week of the season, and his receivers usually join him in the celebration after a touchdown catch. After a big first-down run, Watson usually makes the sign and turns the wiping the nose gesture into a first-down signal.
It's something Watson and his teammates picked up from Atlanta rapper Young Thug, who often raps about "wiping noses," and it's up to interpretation what the expressions means, but it definitely doesn't have anything to do with Kleenex
On Young Thug's song "Slimed In," the hook goes: "Wipe your nose clean, f--- your whole team."
"I'm a fan of Young Thug and his music. He's from Atlanta, Georgia, I'm from Georgia outside of Atlanta. Me and Will Fuller, and Bruce (Ellington) when he was here, big fans of Young Thug," Watson said.
Watson often refers to his teammates as "slime," which also is a Young Thug thing. Young Thug had mixtapes called "Slime Season 1", "Slime Season 2", "Slime Season 3" and "Super Slimey."
Should have known it was some ghetto thug BS

It's feels a bit played out.
It's time for some innovative player to bring back the safety dance. If not for TD celebrations, at least for...safeties!

I like when they shoot opposing players with pretend guns.

That one exists too, but it’s mostly a seatbelt when a pass is broken up.

Played out is the perfect description. Why do the same celebration that 14 other guys did…in the first quarter alone?

My favorite was the Arkansas DB's little "flappy wings" celebration....often accompanied by a Pass Interference penalty.
