I can see where this is a good thing for the defense. It definitely hurt their pride...they are not measuring up to our defensive tradition. They will focus on improving and assignment football against AR when they could fall into the trap of being complacent. They have plenty of motivation to play aTm. Then refocus for the SEC Championship game knowing that we have deficiencies to work on.

I agree. The defense is what it is at this point so any extra motivation that can help light a fire under their butts is helpful.

LOL, they have had multiple games before the Ole Miss game that should have hurt their pride, just about all of them they have been gashed and embarrassed by big play after big play. Thankfully we have an offense that is out of this world and can stay out in front. But this idea that the defense was humbled and will now buckled down is not valid anymore. That ship sailed long ago.

They were embarrassed. This was the first time where they CLEARLY were the weak link of the team.

Every other game their performance could be explained away:
At Texas, the heat got to them.
At Vandy, offense fumbled on the one, and the rest were garbage points besides the first drive of the game.
Florida, gave up less than 30 and made a goalline stand when they needed it.
At Bama, played well outside of a few busted plays and two drives in the 3rd quarter, and beat Bama so who cares.

At Ole Miss, they got absolutely punked by a 6 loss team led by a freshman QB who can barely throw, and they know how bad it looked.

There was visible frustration and blaming on that sideline.

We are about to see what they are really made of.

Clemson got embarrassed by UNC and have been destroying folks ever since. Hopefully our D uses this to light a fire like Clemson used the UNC game.

Our D played very well vs Georgia Southern, Auburn and Utah State.

They were suspect vs Bama, Ole Miss and Texas.

They had good moments and bad moments vs Florida and Vandy.

It’s been hit or miss with this team. They need to be more motivated and that goes back to leadership on the field. Divinity leaving hurt, but Stevens or Lawrence getting on everyone will bring back some balance. Just my two cents.
