I remember (Ole Miss Rebel QB) Archie Manning's late comeback in 1969 Jackson, Mississippi in a nationally televised SEC rivalry game against undefeated LSU. The Ole Miss comeback was horrible for LSU in many ways. My father was suicidal... FOR 3 WEEKS

LSU doesn't really have a true rival. And even if you believe they do, it varies depending on the sport.

LSU pretty much hates everybody in the SEC.

I would say the only teams they don't hate are UGA, Vanderbilt and South Carolina. Maybe Mississippi State

Traditionally our rival was always Ole Miss, especially so in the years between 1958 and 1972 when both teams were good in football.

Historically, they are as close as it gets to that. When both teams are good, which has been rare lately, it's always an intense rivalry-like atmosphere. The game in '03 comes to mind as an example.

In the old days sure but they aren’t a major program anymore and haven’t been for decades.

The crowd on the field actually had little to do with Ole Miss. The fans have rushed the field after wins over Mississippi State, Tennessee and Auburn, also. Ole Miss was just ranked unusually high at the time and LSU was struggling.

That’s stupid to think that meant we are rivals. We basically crushed your season that year. It has far more to do with how that game ended than it did who we were playing. We broke your QB, we broke your team, we broke your whole program that night.

I would say everyone in the west is our rival. Plus Ole Myth fans are pretty easy to dislike.
