Well a couple years ago every vehicle in Jackson had at least one "O - The Coach" sticker on it. They're desperate for inspiration. Granted, Nutt is better, but what exactly will he do in Oxford that he wouldn't do at Ark.? Zero. I expect LSU to continue to own that arse. Maybe they can at least be competitive though. That would be nice.

the Ole Miss football program has claimed three national championships (1959, 1960 and 1962),

And that's using the Bammer counting system, as all three of those titles are from lesser known sources, the FWAA being about the highest profile organization ever to call them national champions. They've never won an AP or Coaches poll NC.

Using their system, LSU has about 8 national championships.

In 10 or 20 years they may even have a "relevant" football team.

Well if Nutt can get D Mac and F Jones to commit to Ole Piss we might start worrying....

It is amazing how they play us close every year.

The same coach that beat LSU last year.

Look, no one thinks Nutt is a Miles, Meyer, Saban, or Spurrier but why is it such a bad thing to appreciate that you have a decent coach. Especially after the last four seasons we have had.

Gotta agree with you, RebelNutt. Houston Nutt's a good coach, and the Rebels will be better with him on the sideline. Ar-Kansas really has no business being any good, and he made them competitive on a routine basis. He does a good job of finding a difference maker and getting absolutely everything out of them (D-Mac, Matt Jones). As I Tiger fan, I was strongly in favor of y'all retaining coach O for the next decade.

Agreed.Hate to say it, but they should be better than they were. However, Croom is doing a good job recruiting. That should help keep the turd in the toilet...where it belongs...for a while longer.

I was in Oxford last week and there were signs in town saying, "We're Nutts about Ole Miss!" Of course, the last time I checked, their talent level didn't change with the coaching change...they've got some talent, but not enough...Nutt is a great game day coach, but he won't out-recruit Croom in Mississippi...esp. after Nutt in his opening press conf. lauded the "tradition" of Ole Miss...try selling that tradition to elite black athletes...even the Preacher can't sell that lame horse.

At least there is one fan that lives in the real world. Ole Miss over LSU.

Actually, we went through the Ole Miss Roster a month or two ago and there is some real talent there. The D Line is strong and there is some talent at linebacker. The RB's, WR and QB are talented. The weak spots are the secondary, offensive line and overall depth. They will be a lot better this year as Nutt may be coaching one of his most talented teams. (Maybe not the stars that he has previously had, but more talented overall.)
