That film reminded me of another, more infamous, filed goal attempt (a.k.a the immaculate deflection) there which may have contributed to the desire to stop playing in this stadium.
Still one of the craziest things that has happened in sports.

Ole Miss and MSU had real small stadiums. They bumped the sizes up to hold over 50,000 and started moving the Jackson games to campus. This is when they did not have winning teams for hte most part. The attendance in Jackson started going down.

The nice thing about the game was it was a relatively short drive from Louisiana. You could make a decent day trip out of it without having to drive too far.

I was at the Ole Miss arse kicking. Was beautiful. But then went to the one in 92. Ugly. Our players just plain quit, didn't even try. Total lack of effort. Billy actually came to the game.
