Oh, yes, another debate on JR's legacy.

i asked for a better measure to compare

....I will repeat....YOU CAN'T COMPARE!!!!

so how do you know JR isn't the best LSU QB of all time then?
Posted on 8/2/08 at 6:53 pm to SlowFlowPro

a. compare it to every other QB in 2006
All of the media publications did and they put his year about 5th best.
quote:
b. compare it to every other season by an LSU QB ever
I agreed that it could be the best SINGLE SEASON for an LSU QB
quote:
for example, JR only started 2 full seasons. that alone makes the comparison invalid
Fact, Tommy Hodson as a true freshman would have beaten out Marcus Randall on day one of August camp. Your point shows that Jamarcus didn't really catch on until his 4th year (he redshirted a year). Hodson was the best QB in the SEC for four straight years. (He led LSU to two SEC titles)

....because it is called an opinion.....we agree to disagree....you say yes, I say no......we can leave it at that

Buckeye, some guys here are doubting Troy Smith's Heismann Year. What say you??

and they are concerned with hype more than substance
look at the stats. JR had the best year
look at the schedule. JR went against the hardest
this isn't rocket science

whoa. not so fast

and i asked what measure you used to base your opinion on, and you replied with nothing except claims that we can't measure QBs and compare them

LSU's Russell Announced as Manning Award Winner

Gotta love the Manning's for picking the boy from the SEC.
(I know the other media guys are biased also)

Are you saying that Tommy Hodson would not have beaten out Marcus Randall???
Posted on 8/2/08 at 7:01 pm to SlowFlowPro
...well if you can't compare them, which is my opinion, then obviously you can't use anything to compare them.......

I think everyone can agree that Hodson, Tittle, Jones, and Russell are the Mount Rushmore of LSU quarterbacks
i never saw these guys play, that is why i haven't compared russell to them. I can't say whose better without having watched these guys careers.
Posted on 8/2/08 at 7:02 pm to Choupique19
you two just need to fight. because a ten page thread still hasnt setled it

the manning award has been around for 4 years and russell is the only sec qb to win it.
try again.

Yes you can, Jamarcus was 6'6 280 lbs and could throw the ball 70+ yards...... therefore, he is the greatest QB of all time!!!!

notice you are the only person dumb enough to inject this argument into this thread.

if Tebow leaves after next year with a NC, does that mean Leak>Tebow?
