College Football is a business. This year is a gimme to the other conferences because the 12 team playoff will ensure SEC dominance until it, the 12 team playoff, has to be changed.
If an SEC team gets in and it should, it will destroy they others.

The BCS sucked and most people hated it at the time. It generated more arguments than it solved. “Prove it on the field” was what everyone wanted. Head-to-head matchup is the only real way to settle all discussion.
But the BCS system did give us more bowls that we could pretend mattered. It was fake though. Only one really mattered. The playoff system we have now seems to have made all the other bowls even more irrelevant but we actually have more bowls now that actually matter. If people want more, expanding the system to add more teams will do that. Eight is probably enough though.

No matter what system we go to, somebody is going to complain. I 'kinda like the eight team system, but it isn't necessarily perfect, either.
