LSU fans don't do the SEC chant, to my knowledge.
Yeah, I remember the whole superdome doing it for a second in the 07 championship game.

Awesome, but he and everyone else like him is missing the obvious point. Chanting SEC is not only saying your team is better than they are, but our whole conference is better than they are, which I think is awesome.

But no one else really cares it seems. The SEC was not always dominant, but I dont recall any other fans chanting for their conference.
For my part, I usually root for SEC teams if it will make LSU look better, except for Alabama. Bama can go 0-12 for all I care.

Whatever pisses them off is fine with me. I also will never under any circumstances pull for any other SEC team not named LSU or Vanderbilt. Don't really like Vandy but I do feel sorry for them pretty regularly and like their coach.

I like the SEC chant bc of articles like this one. I love how it pisses off other conferences.
SEC! SEC! SEC!
SEC! SEC! SEC!

They do this for the simplest of reasons. Those fans are like Granny Clampett; they’re still fighting the Civil War.
What a stupid statement.
I can't speak for anyone else, but I do it because I know that LSU plays against the best competition in America, week in and week out.
I know that if the Tigers are able to navigate the meat grinder that is the SEC and still able to lay a whipping over the oher BCS conferences' supposed best teams, either during the year or come bowl season, then it reaffirms us playing ranked foes like Florida, Alabama, Ole Miss, Georgia, and most years Tennessee and Auburn--
IT MEANS THAT IT WAS ALL WORTH IT!!!
Playing in the SEC means that the Tigers have seen the best that college football has to offer.
So when I give em the SEC chant, do I mean it as a sign of disrespect?
Nope.
But it is definitely a constant source of pride for me, other fans, and if you ask them, the players.
SEC! SEC! SEC!

If they didnt care, they wouldnt write articles like this. It is ignorant to say they do not care, when we keep winning national championships, and nobody can seem to beat us. They wish they were in this conference's position.

You are an idiot.

You SEC fans are some simple-minded creatures.
Percentages vary from school to school, but outside of Vanderbilt, I'd say a large number of each SEC fan base would fit into the "simple-minded creature" category. The grand prize sweepstakes winner being the Neandergumpnecks that follow that college of the Capstone......

The reason no other conference does it is because no other conference is good enough to brag about it. The South division of the Big 12 is about as close as it gets, but only for 3 or 4 teams, the rest of the Big 12 sucks so bad that it is hard to brag about the entire conference.
Posted on 9/2/09 at 11:44 am to TIGERSby10
They would be better chanting BIG12 SOUTH, BIG12 SOUTH.

When Southern Cal dismantles Ohio State, you don’t hear "Pac-10! Pac-10!” coming from the Troy bleachers. When Michigan beat Notre Dame, the Wolverines don’t cry "Big Ten! Big Ten!,” they sing "Hail to the Victors.” When Texas counts down a bowl success, there is no "Big 12! Big 12! Big 12!” salute.
When USC wins, they don't chant "Pac-10! Pac-10!" because they are the only team from that conference that has done anything in the last 10 years. Michigan and Ohio State haven't won a significant game against a OOC team in recent memory, hence them not proclaiming the Big Ten. OU hasn't showed up in a BCS bowl game to chant Big-12 and only Texas has some sort of opportunity to chant their conference is the best...but OU going 0-3 in their last 3 BCS championships doesn't allow them to do that.
The SEC proves their supremacy in big games verse OOC teams - they have earned the right to proclaim their conference as the best.

I hope you understand that when other SEC teams do well, it improves LSU's chances of being selected for major bowls.
Do you think that a 7-5 LSU team would have been selected to play in the Peach Bowl(I refuse to call it chick-fil-a) against the 14th ranked team in the nation if they played in the Pac 10, Big 10, or Big East?
As go the other teams in the SEC, so goes LSU.
Auburn played in the SEC, went undefeated, and didn't get a chance to play in the National Championship Game.
Oklahoma did, and got whipped by 38 points.
If Auburn went undefeated this year, it would take an act of God for them to be frozen out of the NCG.
That's because America can no longer pretend that the SEC isn't the most dominant conference.

Don't worry about him. I'm up here and they hate LSU because we beat them 6 freaking years ago and they think they were treated rudly in New Orleans plus they hate Les for leaving OSU. Having said that, Barry Tramel is just one of the lame, ignorant, bush league sports writers/radio personalities in this area. They are jealous of the SEC venues top to bottom and other than Texas and OU they are jealous at how deep the SEC is as well as the fact that both LSU and Florida have won two BCS Championships. And by the way they still blame losses to LSU and Florida on the fact they had to play in Florida and Louisiana. Not sure what the excuse if for the losses to USC, Boise State and West Virginia.

That's what I want to see. Someone from Oklahoma judging someone else about an inferiority complex. The basis for this article results from an inferiority complex.
SEC SEC SEC SEC
SEC SEC SEC SEC

ha ha ha. those were the most bitter, venom filled losing fans i have ever seen. They were even lame, no fun, and weird before the game....kind of creepy.
at least the Ohio State fans were a lot of fun.
