1. Ref blocking LF7 with a field of green grass in front of him and no red shirts around to catch him. Refs are supposed to plant it and players are trained to go around. He literally could not have done this worse if he had been trying to block LF.
That would have gone to the house... 7 points LSU

2. The CLEAR hold on our guy on Hurt's td play. That would have not scored and we held them at the goal line already once in the game.. could have done it again.

3. BUT ... how does 1 unsportsmanlike offset 3? 15 yards and an automatic first down in good field position.

Can someone please explain the offsetting? I cannot get anyone to answer me on this one. How does 1 offset 3????

1. Fournette should have ran through the ref he is in the way not the ball carrier .

2. This one was blatant 3 played being held at all around the ball carrier, but did not lose the game.

3. It's just the rule is about the best explanation I can give

You can download the NCAA manual free from their website. They applied the offsetting penalty rule correctly.

The offsetting rule was enforced correctly. What I'd like to see changed is a late hit out of bounds be a "live ball penalty". That way it's separated from the reactionary scuffle after the play is truly over.

Yes. I understand the play is dead once the ball carrier is out of bounds, but the penalties are two separate incidents.

All the fouls occurred after the whistle. doesn't matter how many if both teams foul, you can only accept one penalty, thus the two accepted penalties offset

This rule does need to be changed. What keeps it from becoming a free for all after one is thrown? Why care after one is thrown? You can only be charged with one.

No they didn't. The first flag was thrown for a cheap shot by a Bama player towards the end of the play.

Thanks for the explanation.

I talked to a coach today about the ref. He said they are told to plant themselves. Moving interferes with the play. People screw up BUT HE LAUGHED. HE THOUGHT IT WAS FUNNY???

#33 and #15 for Alabama should have been ejected for those cheap shots and I am still looking for the LSU foul on that play.

Unfortunately the ncaa rule for offsetting penalties sucks and isn't applied like the NFL rule.

The real question is wtf could jakori savage possibly done from 4 yards away?

You should throw in the targeting missed call as well. Warched that one again player should have been ejected.

Plus there was a safety not called that should have given lsu 2 pts

The first flag was not called correctly.

Note 2: Defenseless player (Rule 2-27-14)

This is not a dead ball foul.

I was told for each bad call made that the refs are fined. That won't matter much if there is compensation.

I asked another person in the know. They said that the SEC profits from a final four team. They the games threw for Auburn and bama On Saturday. They tried to help aTm but state did their jobs.
