I feel really good right now. There were a ton of calls to those guys this evening I know it.

Yeah, I feel like we're exactly on schedule. Those 5 were chalked up as never coming, now we head to day 2 with the 50/50 guys on watch.

I'd love to know how the talks between Guidry and the Dodgers went.

Guidry is the only one. He was a 50/50 guy with a high number. The fact that he didn't go day one leads me to believe he is ours. Unless some twitter punk says otherwise.

The rest of the gang we will sweat out Day 2. Noot, Shores, Kennedy, Bucknam, Tebrake and Neal will probably be the big names to watch. There are other draft risk but those are the six that have my attention.

Yeah but there’s a lot of teams with money available to go over slot.

Tomorrow will be nerve wracking!

I don't know why I didn't think about this when typing my post. That's probably the biggest takeaway of the night for LSU baseball.

Man.. at the end of the second round, I got my hopes up and thought teams weren't hitting Toman's number. Then the Blue Jays took a late but quick shite on my dreams.

On a completely unrelated note, I was just watching the Matt and Jackson Holliday interview and it lead me to look up Matt's career. The dude hit for a combined .312 over the first 12 years of his 17 year career. He never finished a season lower than .286 until year 13 when he was 34 years old.

That's impressive fricking numbers.

Yeah, there was a LOT of reaching tonight, if you go by prospect rankings. Of course, different teams have different opinions and might have a guy higher on their board than what the scouting services have, but there were some really clear reaches, and it seems pretty obvious as to what the strategy is there.

That's going to have me sweating out all 8 rounds tomorrow. I used to feel good once we cleared the first 4 or so rounds, that a player was a good possibility to make it to campus, but there is going to be a lot of money on the table tomorrow. Gotta figure any name called is signing. If guys make it through tomorrow, then I'll be quite confident they're coming.

My math is terrible, but isn’t it 8 rounds tomorrow? Either way it will be nerve wracking. I may just skip watching tomorrow and check the results.

I'm very curious and hopeful that NIL outweighs that aspect.

Yeah, it was a typo, and I already fixed that.

I'm hopeful of that, as well, and if some of our top recruits don't get drafted tomorrow, it will probably have a lot to do with NIL allowing these kids to set a high enough number for themselves that they get passed up.

Beware of Rangers picks tomorrow. They saved over $2 million drafting Rocker at #3 tonight according to what he’s reportedly signing for.

The MLB draft/signing process, as a whole, is one of the most fascinating/frustrating things in all of sports for me.

I can believe that. I don't think anyone had him going in the first round, but the Rangers are really banking on his talent, obviously, to take him 3rd overall. And with that, saving an enormous amount of money. They better hope they're right about Rocker, though, otherwise they just wasted the 3rd overall pick.

I've always felt like he had way too much effort in his delivery, and with the failed physical last year, it's a big risk.

Something tells me that Rocker did not settle for less money, after what happened last year.
