Massey to Tulane and I don't think the Breaux Bridge kid was committed anywhere, but I could be wrong.

Wow. Seeing the $$ the Yanks paid their draftees really puts Zach Lees $5mil into perspective.

Why are there so few position player signees? Isn't that what we need most?

Well LSU does have 9 position players signed...
And yes LSU needs position players.

Which of those do you think are most likely to contribute?

Out of the position players Arby Fields will contend for a spot in the OF immediately. Both Moore and Powell who are listed as catchers have plus hitting ability, just have to see where they fit in the lineup. Austin Nola will be back; however Barrios is finally going going to be that solid backup which the Tigers have lacked in 10' and 11'(May even get a chance at 3B).

What were their last names? I don't remember Ole Miss signing anyone from the BR area this class.

I just hope Jake Cave pulls a Kevin Gauseman and lets the money go, but knowing the Yankees they are going to to throw the money at him. He really is a difference maker. We could come out in really good shape, I am halfway optimistic.

They are in the 2012 class and not from Baton rouge. Lake Charles and Lafayette

Was there a final number he turned down? It was my impression they were only going to sign one of either Lee or Gausmann.

Either the Yankees are going to follow him closely this summer with a great initial offer or play it cool all summer as the Dodgers did with Gausman last year in hopes of a last second deal.
Without a doubt if the Yankees really want Jake there is nothing stopping them.
Gausman turned down 1.7 million last summer.

So Austin Nola didn't even get drafted? Feel bad for him and good for LSU
Posted on 6/7/11 at 7:33 pm to josh336
The draft still has another day.

Agreed. Glad he will be back, but with the errors and good (not great) year at the plate, he needed to come back. He seems to be pressing most of the year, possibly worried about his draft.
