They just said that the 2nd and 3rd round picks are going to have to sign for between 500-700k.

I think if they don't sign their picks they can't use that money saved in the pool for other players.

Wrong again. If you don't sign a player the slot money is taking out of the pool you are allowed to spend.

Thats the same thing he said.

It is still a long shot, but we have a better chance at Gallo than we did a few hours ago.

If he feels he can come to LSU and be a top 10 pick he will see much more money. LINK

After the first round the money is not life changing. I think that most guys will come to school from here on out(HS guys).

They can offer him more than that, it isn't a hard slot. Hopefully the rest of the guys they pick max out the value for their slot and then some.

It is a hard slot so to speak. They can go over the allotted pool of money. They make up the pool of money by adding up the slots. That makes it pretty hard to me.

I just mean they can offer him more than what is alloted for that pick if they manage to save on other picks...it isn't a deal where they can't go over 1.32 for him.

Let's just hope the guy they picked at 29 takes them for about 2.5 million and everyone they pick tomorrow maxes them out.

Guys coming or not coming will really come down to how MLB teams juggle their cap they are given to sign their top 10 picks. If they have to go over slot to sign guys they must do it at the expense of other players or get guys they know will sign for below slot. Potentially maybe teams will take seniors who will sign and have less leverage in the 8th - 10th rounds.

Honestly no one knows how this system will play out and it will be very interesting to watch over the summer.

Well with the new CBA you have to pay 40% of the slot to any player, but 99% of sr's will take the 40% of the slot round 1-10 because it's still more than they would make if they play independent ball or waited a year.
