West Virgina scores early due to their overall speed but eventually wear down due to the heat, and LSU's size. Crowd noise is also a constand factor and causes confusion on West Virgina's part.
LSU continues to pound the ground game with dives, read options and the like... this bust open middle of the 3rd quarter as the LSU O-line overtakes a much smaller WV D-line and long sustained drives are established.... typical Les Miles old skool 1960's smashmouth football is played... why should expect anything else :)

LSU's D may be up to the task of playing with WVU's O, but LSU's O is completely stifled by WVU's D. Your d is prone to giving up yardage, but has saved your O by getting a silly amount of takeaways.
Without the turnovers, you cant get the job done.
