Didn't Jim get his start in broadcasting as a basketball announcer? Somewhere like NW LA??

???? Q has 1 and should have about 7 but missed several gimmes. Terry has a long 2 but has turned it over several times.

i have no idea why ford's role in the broadcasts have expanded over the years ... ford basically does his job at LSU for almost free .. so i guess LSU gets what it pays for ... hawthorne doesn't have a college degree, so LSU pays him peanuts too ...

Seriously, you're right. Back in the 80's, if I recall, Jim did it solo. If Ford was Bob Pettit or even Danny Moscovitz, he'd be worthwhile to hear. He never palyed hoops...color guys usually have to have those credentials. It's almost a slap in the face to basketball at LSU. Could you imagine Ford doing the color for football games? Nothing personal...Kevin loves LSU. But his insight is as keen as any of ours. And like Rag said...not enough time for the stuff he wants to convey. Hawthorne doesn't make him any better, either.
