Yeah, showing the degree as having "University of Louisiana at Lafayette" isn't a good argument because LSU's definitely has the "A&M" on theirs.
So let's just focus on: UL Lafayette's website, the University of Louisiana System website, any and all state legislation involving UL Lafayette, the media's usage of UL Lafayette in print and on television, the UL Lafayette official letterhead, the UL Lafayette logo.......

The problem is even the Republic of Louisiana cannot stop free speech... I will forever refer to and wear apparel calling my chosen university the University of Louisiana... Now when your legislative minions pass yet another bill, we will comply as we must as a university.... but only to the level forced upon us.... a Lafayette designation will be the minimum font.. we will continue to promote our brand... you cannot dictate what our independent broadcasters call us... nor our local newspapers...
YOU don't care right so that won't matter... We will carry the fight as long as we have to... Bit by bit ESPN and some others are referring to us properly... despite people like ole Turtle Thomas back in the day calling and raising an issue....
Bit by bit... We are going to get there.... And again there is not a whole lot you can do to stop us

Ya think??? mmm you have already had to concede that YOUR chosen University's legal name is INDEED LSU A&M while you chose to go by the LSU brand.... something we are similarly trying to do........ So then you resort to the hypothesis that the Legislature must ignore the fact that you are using a different name from the Legal distinction and shove down the Legal name on us.... probably will work because those season tickets to tiggger land football carry a lot of weight...

We branded ourselves Louisiana because Lafayette is the epicenter of Cajun culture and because we don't give a frick. LSU is a agriculture and mechanical school but they choose not to include this on their logos or sports merchandise etc.. But on LSU's degrees they must deal with the fact that "Agricultural & Mechanical" is stamped on their degree like a branded - Chineese tattooed prostitute.

I could be off base here, but I'm betting that simply going by LSU instead of LSU A&M was simply done for convenience, and the practice was probably started by people other than those in power at LSU. This is simply not the case with ULL.

I have shown source after source of the leaders of your school stating that their name is one thing, and the fanbase calls it another. The LSU system calls us LSU, the university president calls us LSU, and the nation knows us as LSU.
Your system calls you UL Lafayette, your president calls you UL Lafayette, and the nation....well the nation doesn't really know who the frick you are.
At one point, you tried to officially call yourself something other than UL Lafayette, and were told that you couldn't. The fans are the only ones that hold onto a name that doesn't exist in the rest of the world's mind.
You've yet to provide a single source or authority that gives your arguments any merit.

I am well aware what that image looks like. Whats your point? Is LSU claiming that they are not a land grant university? I recall in frosh orientation many years ago it was proudly stated.
