I just finished reading this whole thread and a lot of great discussions we're taking place until this guy created an account and brought nothing to the table. A shite stirrer. I want to guess it was the Bama fan who was trying to "debate" Matt but was exposed as a troll on the sec rant, so you found a new outlet. Just a guess.
Anyway very informative and appreciate the guys who are zoned in on the BCS for laying it out for the rest. Very clear now what OKST needs to do and have happen.
1. Covincing win over OU
2. Clemson win over VT
3. Win over 1/3 of voters from Bama (Believe that's the magic#)
If you have the first two happen, I love the chances of number three going through. OKST receives the VT votes, which has been said, and the majority of the Stanford votes as well. Stanford will be in the same boat as Bama, idle and no conference title( stating the obvious with Stanford votes not giving them any shot at NC). Same logic towards the decision b/t Bama and OKST. OKST, if 1&2 happens, has a conference championship, recent game, and a notable top ten victory. If OKST does to OU what they did to Baylor, no doubt they get the vote. Overall if 1&2 happens I honestly think OKST is deserving looking at their season as a whole compared to Bama. They were the best team in their conference and Bama 2nd in their DIVISION.
Bama shouldn't and doesn't deserve to play for the NC, while LSU is out risking any injuries playing in the seccg. Unfortunately this is a possibility because everyone tripped over themselves in one weekend. Bama has already had their chance at home and LSU deserves a matchup from a fellow conference champion.
I understand Bama fans making their case as would any fan but please bring something better to the table then questioning if we are scared or a "na ah" reply. Honestly I don't mind playing you again and I think the results lay heavily in LSU favor. In new orleans, on turf, and I really don't think offensively LSU showed there hand. JJ has improved tremendously with more game time and you guys showed us everything you can do and it wasn't effective. The reason I don't want to play you is, I don't want to give you the satisfaction of getting in bc of who your team WAS.

I'm done. Time for work

That is my point. The 2 best teams should play for the national title.

Only #1 and #2 should play. Best is subjective, not objective. You know it's impossible for two teams from the same division to play for the Superbowl, World Series, NBA championship... Do you think they are flawed?

Repeat points, gumps have not earned rematch, being awarded rematch 'cause voters fell in love with pretty gumps. The majority of the nation will not watch this game, will it be 51% or 70%? This NC game's television ratings are going to tank. With that, LSU will roll the tide like a used beach towel and then throw them in the trunk for cleaning later.

Fans can be "scared" all they want ... the TIGERS ain't scared.

Bama, if it's you awesome .. we'll beat you again. And your coach will have lost to Les 3 times in a freaking row. Still want him or do you want him to jump ship?

If that is the case, you would need to disqualify OSU also.

Actually LSU's worst nightmare is to not make it to the BCSCG. I'm pretty sure we're in.

Yep, playing the only team that has beat you on the field. And the only team that can beat you on the scoreboard. Roll Tide!

Since neither of those occured the last time we played your statement is dumb.

Sorry. I want Bama for this. I completely understand OSU's situation and believe that they are more likely than most think, but still unlikely now. I'm not completely convinced they'll beat OU - too many factors. Im 50/50 on that game, but I believe it's a lot more possible for Bama to get left out than most Bama fans think.

That said, I've not seen the need to "silence" OSU fans. Bama? They lost to us at home in a HUGE game and they are still talking trash about that game. We'll hear that until next November if OSU gets in. The Tigers can take care of them next November or next January. I'll go for next January. I can't wait to see how well we play on the dome turf. I can't wait. I'm sick of hearing excuses from a team that couldn't score a touchdown on us. They played us harder than any team this year in regulation, but in overtime when it mattered they went backwards. A championship team doesn't do that. I'll be watching in N.O. with three Bama fans I know. I hope we win with a 55+yd field goal.

Maybe I'm too convinced that Bama has no chance, but I'd be much more excited waiting for this game when Bama's in it. The joy I'd take in watching Bama fans get left out wouldn't last more than a week or so.

I responded to a poster who made the comparison of BCS to playoffs. Even if you accept that the two are comparable, the argument was still flawed as I pointed out.

On one hand yea bc they don't technically have a conference championship game and scheduled out the same amount of games.
But on the other they are playing for their conference championship. The powers that be who scheduled this game knew the matchup would workout this way and specifically put it there during everyone else's ccg. Also they scheduled one more extra conference game which considered by the computers to be the strongest conference out there. I may be wrong about the extra game though but I don't feel like double checking.
I saw the Nick Saban article asking voters to be fair. I know he's talking two best teams in the NCAA but his the team isnt the best team in their division on the sec. Fair is two champions playing each other. For the most part it should be worth something more especially if computers show their conference is harder.
Why are going through public perception on who should go. We already seen the result. OKST has the unknown factor of not playing us. I want no doubt hanging over a possible championship for LSU if OKST wins against OU. If not I'll gladly take Bama next in line. Beating them again with their hopes built up just to knock them down again leaving that state with nothing to do but have that sour taste all year bc there is nothing else there.

You got to excuse me bc i havent been to sleep, but I assumed OSU is OKST or maybe I was right. I don't know anymore

2006 - most people thought tOSU and Michigan were the best two teams in the country

2009 - many if not most people thought Florida and Alabama were the best two teams in the country

I'm just saying - the best two in the BCS NCG thing would be nice if there were such a thing as an objective opinion. We don't have those. And maybe the closest thing to them (which are still biased by the guys who write the computer formulas) are the computers

If LSU beats UGA and OkS beats OU the computers will all say LSU and OkS are the best two teams in the country

If Oklahoma State gets out to an early 14-point lead, the folks in Tuscaloosa are gonna shite their pants.
