CYA. The only thing that happened at the 'back end of the season' was Miles' stubborn refusal to let JL do anything but take Victory snaps.
I think Les already validated the "he owes JJ" theory. He is now free to run a decent offense in big games.

What did you say?
It doesn't matter, he thinks everything he says is dripping with greatness and we should be hanging on his every word.

why do you insist discussing anything except les miles and his shortcomings.i give him credit for the things he does well, but you refuse to accept the things he does poorly.why is that?
Ding.
Praise the man when he does well, but a f'king blind monk in Tibet could see we were headed for potential trouble at the end of the year. Being honest, you can praise and you can criticize. Some of these nut huggers have absolutely no room to bitch right now simply because they denied he obvious for a long time.

Miles is trying to backpedel. It won't work. He needs to say and do something more meaningful to rally the crowd. Maybe he does not owe us this, but it sure would be damned good PR if handled properly.

let's just say that we were looking out for Lee's best interest.
why should he care about what Lee's best interests are any more than he care's about the best interest of any other player on the team?

We are well aware of your allegiance.

did Lee 'save the season'? Without Lee Mettenberger is starting while Jefferson is out. On Nov. 5th Jefferson 'saved' LSU from a loss to Alabama.

Who knows? One play could have won the game in OT. Do you know for a fact that LSU couldn't have won? You JJ fanatics have already decided he won the game, nothing will convince you.

Even Alabama knows you have to throw the ball downfield early and often at this level of football.
This is what is scary. With the Money Miles makes he should know this.
Think LSU had plays set-up for downfield, just had QB troubles getting receivers the ball.
There are a couple of tape studies going around about this.

the point is that hopefully Miles is serious about throwing the ball more next season (with a QB that he trusts more to throw the ball). If not then maybe it is time to go in another coaching direction.

This is no different than others who say lee is personally responsible for winning those first 8 games. I think JJ helped us win against bama. He wasn't the main reason we won though.
Just like you have always said this season, this team won with great special teams, defense and field position. This team was not built for the qb to win games. It worked all season but not in the big game. I envision it to be different next season though.

People give the QB too much credit. Both QB's have been given WAY too much credit for LSU's record the past couple of years.

Will see. I think anyone wanting an open offense will be disappointed. What would be nice would be to have an offense that can win the game if needed.
Get ready for it, there will be a lot more second guessing of Miles and his decision not to use Mettenberger more this year in preparation when people see him next year. I think he may have made a difference Monday.

why would you support the decision if you think he's not a good qb

I don't disagree at all.
I am on record saying the best qb on the team was mett. I hope he comes out and shines next season. If he does then yes there will be a lot of second guessing. But by then it really is bitching just to bitch.

yes
The only two facts we know is that in Nov. it took 2 QBs to win (Lee getting two first downs in the 1st series got us started), and in the BCS game we only used one QB, and were embarassed
ergo, that one QB, would also have lost in Nov. BTW, LSU's offense only crossed midfield 1 time in the 2nd half. Translation - Saban had JJ figured out by halftime of the Nov. game
Posted on 1/15/12 at 3:49 pm to TIsuGGER
I believe Georgia had the Offense figured out. They just couldn't stop the run in the second half and LSU had incredible field position. If UGA could do it, probably a snap for Bama.
Hopefully next season the offense will be more versatile.

Holy shite. That is exactly what we needed. 2 1st downs and 2 turnovers. Because, you know, JJ gave us that all by himself on Monday and it worked out well.
