What are yalls best guesses?
Obviously Ingram can change everything, but I think it goes
Charles Hines Cush Lewis Deculus
I know everyone is on Thomas, but I think Bradford could be an impact guy. Dude looks like the real deal.
Also, theres a lot of depth here. Shouldn't have any problems like last year with all the injuries. and even if they do, they have the experience to handle it.

I was expecting Kardell to be an instant impact, has that changed at all because I have not heard anything about him?

You havent heard anything about him because hes not on campus yet...

Did Hines play in the Spring Game?-is he hurt?
Posted on 4/12/19 at 10:43 am to RemarcusJussel
If thomas is as good as advertised, I'd imagine he's starting by October but not to start the year. I feel like its a pretty tall order rolling out a true freshman on the road in Austin in week 2 on the offensive line.

Got to admit OT and specifically Deculus is currently my biggest concern for this year.
His foot work last year was pitiful often leaving him a full 2 steps behind and out of position to block on passes. He tends to extend beyond his COG on first contact as a result and has lost the battle before it is started.
Hines frustrated me last season with the # of penalties and offsides specifically.
I see big things for this team this season if they can clean up the O line. Being able to cement guys into positions will help but there were clear issues with either coaching and/or execution of te very basics. The OL has an advantage in knowing the direction and snap count but often gave that up with lack of proper and timely first steps.

I guess thats why I am so optimistic. They have enough depth esp once the freshmen get here that they can throw a lot of options at this issue. something is going to stick.

I don’t see Kardell playing much unless we have injuries since it seems Ingram is returning. Lewis, Hines, are Ingram very talented OGs and are physically more mature. Magee and Deculus played well at times also at OG.
I think being much better at RB will help the line as well. Brossette was a solid back but there were many instances where the OL opened a nice whole and NB just got a nice gain whereas an elite back would have gotten a huge gain.

Thomas should drop 30LBS this summer and take the RT job.
Don't care that he's short. He's explosive with long arse arms. He could surplant Deculus. His quick feet and long arms really let him play anywhere despite only being 6'2"

I'll give it a shot:
LT: Charles (Jr)/Bradford (Fr)
Charles was a consistent if unspectacular left tackle all season. I think they'll give Bradford the chance to unseat him, but experience matters a lot on the line, and I'm gonna guess the freshman is a year away, though he'll see time.
LG: Hines (So)/Magee (Sr)
We ran through a bunch of guys at left guard after Brumfield got hurt, but Hines was the one who wrestled the job away, doing it as a freshman. That doesn't bode well for Magee or Campbell's future playing time. That was their chance, and they showed they weren't really up to the task. They are nice depth, but Hines is the starter.
C: Cushenberry (Jr)/Smith (Fr)
Cush was a rock last season, when we really needed him to be. There were some growing pains, but he started every game and gave the line some stability.
RG: Lewis (Sr)/Thomas (Fr)
Where would we have been without Lewis? Easily our best lineman last year, he took over the position in fall practice and never looked back. Perfect guy to put Thomas behind to let him learn the position and enter the rotation before he takes over after Lewis graduates.
RT: Traore (Sr)/ Deculus (Jr)/ Wire (Fr)/ Rosenthal (Fr)
As the season moves on, you'd like to see Wire and Rosenthal force their way on to the field. If Charles gets hurt, I'd expect Traore to be the guy to move to the left side so as not to expose the freshmen just yet. This position is wide open. Traore has the inside track most likely as Deculus was, er, not great last year. I think the upperclassmen get first shot at the position, but I wouldn't be shocked if the freshmen see plenty of live reps.
If Ingram comes back, he starts at the back of the line and has to earn his job back. Ingram was the right guard, and I don't see Lewis giving that job up, so the only spot is left guard, and he'd have to unseat Hines. You let down the team with your actions, you don't waltz back into a starting role.

He was a senior in high school when this allegedly happened. How did he let this team down if he wasn’t on it yet?

LT: Charles/Rosenthal
LG: Ingram/Hines
C: Cushenberry/Smith
RG: Lewis/Magee
RT: Deculus/Traore
Ingram will be back.
Unfortunately I think this is how the coaches see it at RT. I say that because I think it's a mistake to really only be trying Deculus, Traore and Wire at RT. Why Rosenthal is being worked at LT is beyond me, RT is clearly the spot on the OL needing the most help. Charles could be here 2 more years, so why not be pushing Rosenthal to take over RT where we struggle the most? I'd rather work him in there than wait 2 more years to see him play LT.
I think Deculus needs to be moved to backup LT or LG. He's better on the left side.

Hines partially tore his acl 5 months ago and he just reached 100% recovery yesterday

as always:
we'll be incredibly solid on the interior and we will struggle mightily on the exterior with our tackles. Charles is meh and Deculus is a turnstile. Hopefully Traore is better and Rosenthal lights the world on fire to take over one of the positions. We desperately need better tackle play this year.

As much as I hate to say it we don’t have a legit right tackle and that’s a really bad thing
Our interior O Line is fricken sexy tho

Typically for a RH QB you put your best G and T on the left to protect his blindside on passes.

Yeah but Rosenthal wont ever be playing LT as long as Charles is around. Why I would put him at RT and probably win that job this season.
Getting best 5 out there, etc...

Serious Q as I have no idea:
Is there a place to pick up a community college or portal transfer and if so is there a stand out OT that wants to be a Tiger?

We are full, cant take anyone this year. We signed and are bringing in the allowed maximum new players.

He’s a turnstile. If he’s at RT we’ve got problems.
